  1. Believe it or not, they actually used to arrest and go forth with a trial for not registering.
  2. I remember registering, but I swear that my guidance counselor came to me at school to give me the card. I had all but forgotten about it until I was in the application process to put myself through the police academy several years ago. It asked for the SSS number and I shrugged it off since I had a DD214. No, I got the call that it was an incomplete application. After a phone call I had it within five minutes; they were very nice people.
  3. I just can't justify it over $22 factory mags from GT's. I loaded up on used Glock 22 mags at $12 a while back and use them for 9mm shooting also.
  4. Yes, I only know of PA that does not sign people up for selective service. Virginia will revoke a license, but I think they sign them up anyway. Edit: I can not find anything stating where Virginia will revoke a license. They may no longer do that.
  5. Not only can you not get student loans without signing up, but you cannot take a federal government job later if you do not register. To be honest, I think one of the only reasons that we have the Selective Service and the process of sending in a card is because of tradition. Most states since about 2000 automatically share your drivers license information to the Selective Service.
  6. I am not really surprised by the trigger seeming heavier than a standard Glock; the 42 feels the same way.
  7. I'd rather go into CS chamber everyday than get sprayed just once with pepper spray.
  8. The taser is nothing to get emotional about. It's painful but it is only painful for a minute. I have never heard of having to do both in the same day; that is crazy. Now the pepper spray sucks! One of the best things I have ever seen used as a neutralizer was a gallon of whole milk. I have seen baby shampoo, Dove soap, and even the stuff EMT's carry used to clean up the oils, but the guy who brought whole milk was good after about 10 minutes.
  9. I can't see the justification in this case.
  10. The 232 is probably about as big as a Bersa, Shield, or a XDS. Those Chief Specials are probably the smallest in service calibers. http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7042/uhft.jpg
  11. I forgot about the S&W Chief Specials in 9/40/45. They are fine weapons. The Sig 239 I had was a little larger than my 3913. I tried to pocket carry it but it was too large. I can't really speak for the 224 though.
  12. I have pocket carried my 3913 a little over the years, but it is not a pocket pistol. Other than the Sig 232/230, some Bersas, and a few less desirable guns like the accutek there are not a lot of choices.
  13. I have seen more guns on Walmart shelves than I have seen in years. There was probably six different AR's.
  14. My thought is yes, but no. The Gold Dot and American Eagle 327 loads have more energy out of just a 3" barrel revolver than a 38spl has in a rifle length barrel. The 327mag has twice the energy out of a 2-3" barrel revolver than its .32H&R counterpart. http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/megraphs/38special.html http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/megraphs/32hr.html http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/megraphs/327mag.html In these test for a revolver you will actual add an inch for the cylinder because these test were all done on a single shot barrel where which measure muzzle to the breech face.
  15. I have stumped across a few stashes of .327 Fed Mag before, and once was during the 2013 ammo crisis. You can fire 32acp of top of the other well known acceptable catridges but you risk light primer strikes. To me the advantage is a perfect compromise between the hottes 38spl and the 357mag all while gaining an extra round. I really wished that they would have done it in the LCR instead.
  16. I actually know that is the whole purpose behind it. I still like to mess with them. I remember Bilo starting it in 97ish, and whoever has my mom's old phone number gets a lot fuel perks. She hasn't had that number in 15 years, but I still give them the number. The same for ACE; I give them my ex's number and we broke up in 1998. Of course I give them ten incorrect ones first, lol.
  17. If Chattanooga still had a Kroger I would shop it. I get so tired of damn club cards and everybody except Walmart has them. I normally ask them to look it up by phone number and purposely give them about a half dozen wrong numbers first. One day these places will figure out that having club cards do nothing except waist money.
  18. There were several reasons told to my by actual NYPD officers a few years back on why they can no longer carry a K9. None of the reasons were quality related.
  19. I can if he doesn't have one.
  20. My great-grandfather was a clown in the circus. Please don't associate his type with dummy, liberal Douche Bags.
  21. This sounds like friend of mine in West Virgina. While there are one or two high dollar ones in his collection, he shoots and speaks of his Springfields and RIA more than any of them.
  22. No one here has advocated carrying it halfcocked; it is my understanding that it is an inadvertent act that is not easily distinguishable from hammer down.
  23. I have not tinkered with them enough, but supposedly you can not very well destinguish between half-cocked and hammer down. It may or may not be enough to detonate a primer.

    Helmet Law

Pretty much, I was a traffic investigator in a state that did not require helmets. I have worked some pretty gruesome car and motorcycle wrecks that also become ugly court cases. It was also a no-fault state; I can not image the craziness with the way insurance is in TN. While I believe in freedom, You are utilizing local, state, and federally funded roads. When the police have to detour traffic and spend hours upon hours investigating a wreck that has become serious because of the lack of safety equipment like helmets and seatbelts, it becomes a government interest.
