  1. It's actually a fact that bothers me. You have perverts and stalkers that love to file information request. I will let your imagination wonder as to why they want certain information.
  2. You just can't go wrong with a Tacoma. My father has driven them for years and driven them hard. His 1995, 2.7 liter had 500k miles. I have owned two, and I only got rid of my last one because I wanted a new Wrangler. Yes, Tacomas cost a lot, but they are worth it, and you will not lose money it. I traded my 2013 in after 18 months/20k miles and lost all of $2500.
  3. I won't argue that, but I have never known Glocks to be that inconsistent one gun to the next. However, M&P's are notorious for inconsistently be different one gun to the next.
  4. I have no issues with the Glock 42; I have shot one. However, .380 ammo is only slightly more available than 22lr. I mean finding ammo, much less self-defense ammo, is a challenge. I don't think I could justify anything over $400 for a Glock 42, especially since you can find a Shield for that.
  5. The businesses would probably have ground.
  6. You beat me to it.
  7. When I went through the armors course several years ago we were told the G22 was the most common in the US. Next was the G21 or the G19. If Glock knows they are not willing to release the numbers and choose to keep it secret. While the G17 is the most sold Glock in the world, it is not as common in the US. While the G22 does appear to be number one, we have a large .357 Sig following in our state. We still have departments adopting it. Since Georgia State Patrol dumped their GAPs for G17 I will be curious to see if any of the other Georgia departments go to 9mm. I only know of a couple that have 9mm south of us.
  8. Edited with updates.
  9. I have been setting aside a $1000 for a 610 to cross my path. They are hard to come by. There were a few 3rd gen autos with 4.25" barrels. The 1086 and the 1076 are the most desireable.
  10. I would love to sit around and cast 1k bullets and load them in one day, but I can't justify it when my job is forcing me to work overtime and I would make enough to buy twice that amount. I do however reload until I have had enough on my free time. I also can't neglect my daily chores or justify skipping the gym to reload since I am at a time in my life where I have more money than time.
  11. I have seen it too much. To include some 1911's in duty holsters, and when I asked about it they told me that was department policy. No thanks, I would carry something else if hammer down was the 1911 carry method.
  12. It will not end up there without the user putting it in the halfcocked position. Most likely it will occur by thinking that you have uncocked the hammer. I don't know why you would carry wit a hammer down anyway but many people do.
  13. The Perfecta is at least $10 a box around Chattanooga and the two stores in Knoxville that I checked. I have bought about as much as I have reloaded over the last couple of years. I mostly buy hollow points and shoot my stash of FMJ. Once all the FMJ, that was my SHTF stash is gone, I will probably only shoot what I can reload. Truthfully, with "free" lead I probably can reload 9mm for less than $3/50 even including alox and electricity.
  14. Without shortages as an equation you can reload 9mm considerably cheaper than you can buy factory ammo. The trick is to buy in serious bulk. I cast with a friend sometimes, but my time is too valuable to really cast all the time. This friend recovers about 90% of the lead that he shoots. If I shoot enough to buy 8lbs of Bullseye ($150) and 10k primers (300) I can get around to it costing about $4/50. Otherwise, I am at about $7/50 buying bullets. If you are not able to recover your brass then forget about it. Here is the important question: how valuable is your time? I can work an overtime shift and make enough to buy twice the amount of bullets as I can make in that same twelve hour period.
  15. I think I had heard that at one time, but my memory is slipping in my old age; I was born in 1980.
  16. It is an eight year obligation, and active duty does not register if in on your 18 th birthday. FULL-TIME MILITARY EXEMPTED FROM REQUIREMENT* (See *NOTE below) Young men serving in the military on full-time active duty do not have to register, if serving continuously from age 18 to age 26. Those attending the service academies do not have to register. However, if a young man joins the military after turning 18 or leaves the military before turning 26, he must register. 17. Believe it or not, they actually used to arrest and go forth with a trial for not registering.
  18. I remember registering, but I swear that my guidance counselor came to me at school to give me the card. I had all but forgotten about it until I was in the application process to put myself through the police academy several years ago. It asked for the SSS number and I shrugged it off since I had a DD214. No, I got the call that it was an incomplete application. After a phone call I had it within five minutes; they were very nice people.
  19. I just can't justify it over $22 factory mags from GT's. I loaded up on used Glock 22 mags at $12 a while back and use them for 9mm shooting also.
  20. Yes, I only know of PA that does not sign people up for selective service. Virginia will revoke a license, but I think they sign them up anyway. Edit: I can not find anything stating where Virginia will revoke a license. They may no longer do that.
  21. Not only can you not get student loans without signing up, but you cannot take a federal government job later if you do not register. To be honest, I think one of the only reasons that we have the Selective Service and the process of sending in a card is because of tradition. Most states since about 2000 automatically share your drivers license information to the Selective Service.
  22. I am not really surprised by the trigger seeming heavier than a standard Glock; the 42 feels the same way.
  23. I'd rather go into CS chamber everyday than get sprayed just once with pepper spray.
  24. The taser is nothing to get emotional about. It's painful but it is only painful for a minute. I have never heard of having to do both in the same day; that is crazy. Now the pepper spray sucks! One of the best things I have ever seen used as a neutralizer was a gallon of whole milk. I have seen baby shampoo, Dove soap, and even the stuff EMT's carry used to clean up the oils, but the guy who brought whole milk was good after about 10 minutes.
