I have some well proven semi's other than Glocks, but I would be perfectly content with only a safe full of Glocks and Smith revolvers. I am just about there anyway.

A word of caution for you, one of the most common issues with LW is their tight throats. I can't shoot 124gr flat points through my LW unless I seat them really deep.

If it is 100% reliable don't bother with changing the extractor. In fact, there are many stories of people running 40 extractors in their 34/17/19/26 to help cure ejection problems.

I rally haven't found that many hot deals at Buds in Kodak, but Smokey Mtn Knife Works has had some the two times I have stopped. GT's in Rossville always has killer deals on used stuff and the occasional new firearm.

There were some some smoking great deals there back in December. I almost bought a Smith 5906 for $289, and they had some decent gen2, Glock 22's for $269. They had new Shields for $329(WOW).

buffalo bore @ smoky mountain knife works
Patton replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
They should be loaded with Gold Dots, but I found the Buffalo Bore 124 gr 9mm to be the least accurate round of all I have tested. And you are right about the brass case not being as corrosion resistant; I don't know why the don't load them in nickel cases. -
Reloader question. Cheap source for lead.
Patton replied to TN Volunteer's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have only been casting for about the last year, but I have been gathering lead for a few years now. The majority of tires shops either say they have a list of people wanting them. I do occasionally run across lead without looking too hard through various sources. I have bought some off of eBay and been in it for about $2/lbs shipped. At that price I can manufacture loaded 9mm or .38 for $5 a box, and this is assuming i cant reclaim any shot lead. That makes it $100/1000 and worth it. -
I carry a snubnose revolver because.....
Patton replied to FortKnox's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I know what you are saying, but I often think that the first shot in a semi-auto may actually be even more reliable as long as there is a round in the chamber. A lot has to happen for a revolver to fire, and a lot has to happen for a semi-auto to cycle. I carry a variety of snub-noses revolvers as a primary, and my favorite is by far a j frame. My all-time favorite was a 1991 640 38 spl that I foolishly sold. I like to carry the Airweights, but the all steel versions shoot so much better. -
I actually was referring to the combat grips. They are actually hard to come by unless you buy them from S&W direct.

Carry laws pertaining to cash advance businesses

I believe someone has been misinformed. -
I agree and find these the very best for an all around j frame:
-
Yeah, just about every blanket policy I have ever ran across had a $2500 single collection coverage per classification.
-
Another tip is to take your pictures with serial numbers and email them to yourself so that you can recover them from anywhere with Internet access.

I have the exact same grips on my 642. However, I still prefer the Uncle Mikes Combat Grips that are rubber and about the same dimensions.

I saw an online sale at GTdist.com.

Back in my full-time LEO days I never harassed, nor had any friends who harassed over window tint. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you are involved in a serious motor vehicle collision it could hinder your case into proving your innocence. Example: you pull out in front of a motorcycle and the rider dies. Preliminary investigation reveals your forward, front side windows are up and your tint is too dark at 15%. Luckily for the person investigators were able to determine that the motorcyclist was speeding an egregious amount.

I wouldn't push it. The biggest, most knowledgeable 1911 fan that I know says no 1911 is capable of nuclear 10mm loads.

I suppose next you will say that everyone should have the right to free Internet. Actually, I understand what you are saying and I do agree.

There is also a good combo package at BUds now. A police trade in M&P 40 w/3 mags and night sights, and also a new S&W 637 for $659 shipped.

Having owned a 3" k frame in 357 and many compact Glocks, I can say that they carry about the same and are very comparable. Any +p 124 gr 9mm out of a Glock 19 should give you at least 1150fps. The 3" k frame with 125gr magnums should be at least 1400 fps. The projectiles are relatively the same. When talking snub nosed revolvers and sub compacts, you may close the gap to within 100fps. More than likely though you still have about 200-150fps difference.
-
Those numbers are correct. In general, a 4" barrel .357 mag revolver has always produced about 550-600lbs of energy with 158gr magnums. A 3" barrel produces about 10% less. Normally a 1250fps in a 4" and 1125fps in a 3" revolver.

Standard sights on a duty weapon?

Your home got burglarized and they were gone before you got home; that is the good news! It is extremely dangerous to unknowingly interrupt a burglary in progress. Everything in my home can be replaced with the exception of my family. You need an alarm if for no other reason to let you know it is safe to enter your home. Deterring them or sending them fleeing after the initial alarm sound is just an added benefit. Yeah, dogs deter criminals too but they don't call police, are often hurt, shot, or pushed out the door. Don't forget to have your street address clearly visible for police and first responders. Criminals case-out houses that the police will not so easily be able to find. I even know of one cop who had criminals try and convince him he was at the wrong address.
-
Yes, it is easily replaceable. Any gunsmith should be able to do it for you.

I have pocket carried 90% of the time over the last several years. While I have done a G26/27, I find them slow to draw. To be honest, my Shield carries well in the pocket, but it is still a slow draw. The reason I have went back to a j frame is because I can draw it much quicker and I like the heavier trigger. I have handled a G43 but I have not shot one. I do like the way it feels, and everyone tells me it is just a bit snappier than a Shield because it is lighter.
