1. I either shoot mine left or it is the gun. I have shot it left handed just as much as I have right handed and still noticed it.
2. That is probably the biggest persuasion for me to own one besides the .327 filling a nice gap between 38 and 357. I just keep losing confidence in many of the 38spl loads with all of the failures to expand I see.
3. The newer, MIM extractors are not as reliable at producing years of positive extraction. Older forged extractors are highly sought after to help cure weak brass extraction causing brass to face.
4. I have almost 10 years worth of combined federal service. Colt is the only company I have ever seen that doesn't stick it to the government. Under the old federal contract Colt AR's were less than $800.
5. Yes, and even 32acp if you are willing to accept a few weak primer strikes.
6. For $299 why would someone even bother
7.
How's that work? I want to have new sights put on my two model 19s and will be in that area later this week. Can I just bring them by? Schedule an appointment?
Just go to the factory. Be there before the cutoff. I think 4p.m. Bring your mags and everything for the gun so they can go over everything.
GT's in Rossville will put the same Glock night sights on for the same price.
8. Trust me on this and do not let them replace your extractor unless they can show you that it is chipped and broken.
9. There are a few other news reports that he is in the National Guard.
10. I have a close friend that tells me the .327 in the S&W 632 feels about like a warm 38spl. The .327 is his grandfather's but he has some 38 j frames so I believe he can give an accurate assessment. I imagine with the LCRs it may be like shooting the 9mm version.
11. Yes, I have been anticipating this for a long time. It is a really awesome cartridge and gives you six rounds in a j frame size revolver.
12. I have about 300 rounds through my G43 and I like it just fine. It has eaten every type of ammo I have fed it. I was waiting until it had proven itself to pickup the TLR-6 and holsters. It was the TLR-6 and cheaper Glock night sights that drew me to the 43. I also needed the slightly smaller profile. It is amazing what an eighth or a quarter of an inch here and there does. I will go on record and say that I still think the Shield is a better handling and better built gun.
13. The Pearce Plus 1 extension is available now for the 43 also.
14. The issue has to do wit the magazines lightweight and shape. People are filing the bottom off the mag release so it will load and eject cleaner. I don't know that Glock is offering a fix.
15. If you never plan to reverse it there is a fix that can be done with the factory release.
16. It's not just yours; it is a known issue with all of them to a degree.
17. I was just thinking the other day about a family friend that carried that around in his wallet many years ago.
18. As I listened to his excuse once again I further realized just how much like a politician he is.
19. I would not hesitate to recommend the 43 or the Shield for an EDC gun to serve as home protection as well. If I could only own one handgun it may very well be a G43.
20. I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Beckson-Thirsty-Mate-Manual-18-Inch-24-Inch/dp/B0000AY7M0 I think I paid $20 at an irrigation store.
21. Yeah, the TLR-6 doesn't make the gun any harder to conceal. In fact, I wished they made such a low profile device other Glocks.
22. I am a firm believer in seeing your target as being far more important than sight alignment. The Streamlight TLR-6 was the selling point for me to purchase a G43. I don't have the Streamlight yet; I wanted to make sure I liked the 43 first. I do have night sights on my frequently carried G27, but n/s are no replacement for a light even if it is an unattached flashlight. I am not even one that thinks n/s are must. For most all close encounter situations that civilians will find themselves in the night sights will not be needed.
23. I have messed with a Pitbull before.. The only complaints are that it can be a booger to load because the ammo requires a push to get them to seat and that they do not always eject positively even though it is a short casing.
24. While the Sig 239 is an awesome firearm it is large. I really regret letting mine go though.
25. Booths Bowery is still there, but it seems like every year it gets a little less attractive and accommodating. I found some pretty bad reviews online recently so was a little hesitate about recommending. Our Bar Down Under is almost in the same boat; I can't say it is what it used to be. North Turn, Aunt Catfish's, and Inlet Harbor are very popular and decent but not worth the usual wait. I would not recommend JB's Fish Camp as it very overrated, but Norwoods is great dining and very reasonably priced. Both of these are in New Smyrna. .
