Hi ponts and Keltecs are for sure the best in centerfire category. But let me tell you, NAA mini's are well crafted little machines.

A good shoot is a good shoot, but a prosecutor will use any approach they want to for an edge. The same can be said for a civil trial. However, I don't think a conversion barrel will make too much of an issue. The same arguement can go for your defense though if you use the same ammo and handgun used by law enforcement. I found ammo that my conversion barrels do not like, but feeding and ejection have always been 100% with the two Lone Wolf barrels I have owned. There are people who run 40 extractors in 9mm Glocks to help cure erratic ejection. A 9mm magazine is a must for self defense in my opinion. If I put several hundred rounds through a conversion barrel with about fifty of those being my carry load I wouldn't hesitate to carry it. However, why bother when you alread have a tried and true weapon. What are you really gaining besides two rounds and what may or may not be less recoil?

IWB holster with zero (or adjustable to zero) cant?
Patton replied to Steelharp's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
If you can find a Kholster that someone has laying around you can even get a negative cant. I had one and was pretty happy with it. I found IWB didn't work for me regardless though. -
They are not exactly small nor lightweight. I have always been a fan of derringers. My dad had a Davis 22lr derringer when I was younger and it was fun. I don't think I have ever carried one as a sole means of defense. I favor the American Derringer over the Bonds. I think that the 45/410 combo is really about the only caliber worth owning.

The lightness of their projectiles is because they are all copper without lead. However, I have never seen an issue with the Barnes bullets being too light. In fact, the 110gr DPX is probably the second best 38spl load only to the 135 gr Gold Dot from in every test I can find. Those 129gr Hydrashocks do perform poorly. I have some of the old 125 gr Federal jacket hollow points I would like to test. They were discontinued about ten years ago.

While you could, there are some differences that may or may not matter.

Glock factory barrel's effect on brass
Patton replied to tercel89's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Actually, weak chamber support was present on pretty much all earlier models. Without a doubt 40s&w was the caliber to be most concerned. I pretty much load 40s&w to bunny fart pressures, but I shoot all my 40s&w in factory barrels. I sometimes shoot 9mm in a Lone Wolf barrel but I have to be selective on which bullets to load because the lonewolf barrel has a tight chamber and throat. Most 115 gr bullets with a short OAL feed fine. I have shot plenty of lead through factory Glock barrels. -
Actually, Georgia State Police dropped theirs for Glock 17's.

Yes, I will be traveling Hwy 40. I found te Best Western online. However, this will be for a graduation, and I was trying to avoid the most obvious accommodations for fear of a crowd.
-
Thanks, that is exactly what I was needing to know. I just didn't know the nearest town to look for accommodations.

I am looking for a hotel near Mckenzie, TN if anyone has a recommendation. Something twenty minutes away would be fine. Also, I would like dining recommendations.

I wouldn't mind having a 45c myself. It is probably the most ergonomical double stack 45acp on the market. As previously mentioned, every trigger is different.

I have seen a few Saharas with a Dana 35 and about 50% of Sports came with a Dana44. Both of mine that I had did.

They will be allowed in,but they will not be allowed at the counter. If you hit all five moonshine establishments in a short period you can get toasted.

There is nothing wrong with waiting until the time is right. Wranglers are a blast and pretty darn good vehicles; I highly recommend them. Unfortunately, they bring rediculous prices. I have been assisting a good friend with selecting a wrangler. Late model TJ's are selling for the same price they were 10 years ago. I think that they are in higher demand than ever without enough to go around. I have already chimed in with the engine and transmission thoughts, but without a doubt the Dana 44 rear axle is the preferred axle. I wouldn't pass up an otherwise perfect wrangler that had a Dana 35. In fact, I have broken a Dana 44, but never a Dana 35. Just know that the Dana44 is stronger but not bulletproof. The popular thing is to find a junkyard Ford 8.8 from an explorer to drop in to replace the Dana 35 or 44.

I have had several Wranglers. With the TJ's there isn't too much to worry with except for severe frame rust. I have seen beautiful Wranglers without much of a frame left. The 4.0 is a pretty good engine, and the 2.5 isn't bad but it is a slug. I would stay away from the later model 2.4 liter engine. I would probably pass on the 02 and later 4spd auto, but that is subjective. The 3spd auto used up until 02 is a great transmission. All of the manual transmissions are decent. If you can find and afford a Rubicon buy it! I don't know why they ever put the 3.07 gears under the 4.0's. The 3.73 gears were an option, but pretty much a must in my opinion. I can't stress enough about checking for frame rust.

I have never seen any test where the reversed wad cutters performed worth a darn. I have a good stock pile of 135 gr Gold Dots now though.

I snapped this at Cabelas outside Chattanooga. I found several boxes of 32 SW long and H&R at Gander Mtn and The Red Bank Army store.

Who went away from .357 Sig besides NC Highway Patrol? Texas DPS changed their minds and stuck with them. I can't think of a single agency in TN that has went away fom it. It seems like there is twice as many departments using it in TN as there was just 5 years ago. Also, since someone mentioned federal agencies, the only ones I know of with .357 Sig are investigators with the Social Security Adminstartion, the USSS, and FAM. I am thinking US Postal Inspectors may have them as well. All of them are Sigs also.
-
Something else, not all .355 bullets will work. You have to find some that have a high enough shoulder for tension. I really haven't shot that many guns in .357 Sig but I was impressed by the ones that I have shot. I didn't find the recoil in the Glock 32 any different than a 19 or 23.
-
It has a strong following with law enforcement in TN and is still gaining popularity. Honestly, it is slightly more difficult than 9/40/45 to reload. Bullet setback and achieving proper neck tension is the issue. Reviews are mixed in general. Some say the recoil is like 40 and some say it is more like a .45. Some friends of mine with some federal agencies say when it came down to all the service calibers people shot higher scores with .357 over even 9mm. As you apparently know, you are not stuck with keeping a .357 Sig gun in just that caliber.

I only make it into SMKW about once every six months so I can't comment on the availability there, but GT's hardly ever gets trade in 9mm Glocks. There was not a single one there at GT's 30 minutes ago; more in the 40 variety than you could imagine. I do see some 9mm on Aim Surplus occasionally, but the are closer to $400 than $300.
-
Yes, buy it now. Police trade in Glocks in 9mm are pretty rare because 40/357/45 have been used primarily over the last two decades. Those that have continued to use 9mm often have them destroyed at the end of their life.
