  1. Steelharp, I disagree with your opinion. I believe the shields are some of the best all around handguns on the market, and especially for their value. I have felt better triggers on higher dollar guns, but they have the best striker fired trigger of any gun I have ever shot. I don't know why any given shield has a better trigger than their full size counterpart. I find the shield is easier to shoot than many guns twice its size and weight, and I find reports of malfunctions nearly unheard of. I wish the same shield platform was available in a longer and taller full size. Something like a slim, 10 round 4.25" barrel. It would easily serve as a duty weapon and an all season IWB concealed weapon.
  2. I don't know why it is but Shields have better triggers than full size and compact M&Ps. I hate regular M&P's, but for whatever reason my Shields have had better triggers than even my Glocks. I didn't really care for the XDS; I sold it to go back to the Shield.
  3. It is simply because there is less case capacity with a heavier bullet.
  4. I wanted one until I saw how big they were. The one for the Ruger LCP was big enough to hold about any smart phone on the market. You just don't realize how big they are and have to be. Then when I saw the one for the Glock 27 I knew there was no way it would work for me. It really looked as if it would stand out and be too obvious.
  5. Dear S&W:
  6. One of my close friends bought a Victory and had to send it it back for FTE on every kind of ammo. He just recently got it back and it eats everything but really cheap stuff.

Will, I believe that to be correct also.

It is really going to matter a lot for what weapon make you are looking for.
  9. You keep saying it would be faster than a bolt action but very few shooters care about that. The advantages of a bolt gun come with tight actions, precise lookup, the option of free floating barrels, and simplicity in a gun you do not have to lift from the bench to chamber the next round. If a shooter is going to sacrifice any of those they are just going to an auto feeder.

Well, you could probably find about as good of a deal online as in stores. Some of my friends bought some of the Glock 22's from sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com. As previously mentioned, cdnnsports, budsonline, and a few others should be able to get you well under the $375otd price on several models.
  12. If you ever want me to decap and resize your brass because you have a large amount just hit me up.

The cw45 was one of the worst recoiling handguns I ever shot. My S&W 360 with magnum cartridges is probably softer in recoil.

Craig's is hit or miss. I have seen them have some of the best deals imaginable and then not have anything. Is there anything specific you are looking for as far as police trade ins?

I know I am a minority but I have many purposes for derringers. I just ask that the derringer be 100% reliable. That is actually less than I would have thought.

Who wants to bet that they think it's worth more than any of us would even consider paying.
  17. No, of course not. For the most part we set speed limits based on a principle known as The 85 Percentile Speed. Basically this is the speed 85 out of 100 vehicles will not exceed. Unfortunately, not all streets get a survey; most streets will get set a speed limit in accordance with other surveys. Studies have shown that when a maximum speed limit is over or under this speed it results in considerably more traffic concerns.
  18. I bet you could make it work. You could probably tape some small dowl rod down in the top machine work for molding in kydex. I don't think leather would give you any problems.
  19. I tried a box in a Glock 26 and had one weak primer strike. It fired the second time in my Shield.
  20. I believe someone with the name KahrMan would know, but I thought the pm 40 slide was shaped a little different than the cm40. But, I bet you could make it work.
  21. I believe the cw9 and 40 have the same slide profile as their little cm counterparts except being shorter.
  22. I don't think you completely get the gist of the difference. We have tried on a test track to to stop a crown vic from 80mph in less than 200 ft. It just can't be done. From the point you witness danger, or we yell out danger, you have already traveled over 100ft before your brakes start to grab. If we reduce the speed to 40mph we can stop that vehicle in almost the same distance that was previously the reactionary gap. We are never going to eliminate all traffic collisions. All we can ever hope to do is reduce the amount and reduce the severity of collisions.
  23. I know why you say that, and to an extent you are correct. However, it took some formal training and testing scenarios for me to realize some things. One, it takes nearly three times the distance for a vehicle traveling 80 to come to a stop as one doing half that speed. Even if you are paying attention and have a sharp mind you have a .07 sec reactionary time as opposed to the average person who may have a 1.5 reactionary time to witness danger, decide to take evasive or defensive measures, and then act. Regardless, when you are driving 80 mph, you have traveled a minimum of 111.73 ft from the time that you perceived a threat until the time you have first applied the brake if you have a 1 second reaction time. Another point I like to make, and I learned this from a trip to the morgue, your internal organs become mush when you go from 80mph to stationary instantly. Remember, speed never killed anyone; it's coming to an immediate, complete stop that will get you.
  24. I recall the cm/pm 45's being a thicker gun. I can't recall if the cm9 is the same width or not. Edit: The cm40 is .04" thicker than the cm9.
  25. This one was very similar and it cost the buyer close to $1,000 after sale price, shipping, and transfer. It is any mans guess if these classic Smiths will continue to climb in price. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=553665178
