  1. My first year of college, albeit nearly 20 years ago, I did intensive research with large cats. If you just say Lynx you are referring to what we call a bobcat in Tennessee. There are several species of Lynx like the Canadian Lynx not found in the southern United States. But keep in mind, we can have hybrids of domestic cats and bobcats in Tennessee. It is not common, but it does occur. There isn't much there to make me believe that is anything other than a southern bobcat. The walk, the spotted legs, and even the lanky stature identify with what I know of bobcats. The only thing I can say that is weird is to see it on gravel. Maybe that was its only walking path, but I have seen and heard them walking to purposely avoid gravel and pavement. Also, the color is weird. It's not weird for a bobcat, but it is this time of year. Unlike domestic cats their coats change seasonally. Summer will have an orange tint to it. While this sounds impossible, it is actually just shedding of a winter coat.
  2. I highly recommend SGammo. http://www.sgammo.com/catalog/rifle-ammo-sale/30-carbine-ammo
  3. I will keep that in mind. I have heard a little about it before.
  4. Thanks everyone. This confirms everything I know about the shipping laws. I was just kind of wondering what most people were paying their FFL to ship firearms for them. I was wondering if the old legend that FFLs can do it cheaper through the USPS.
  5. What do shops normally charge you to ship a handgun to another FFL? For example, if I sold a handgun on gunbroker what should I expect my FFL to charge me for their services? I know I can ship it myself, but I have heard an FFL can ship it for less than I can. Also, some FFLs will only accept shipments from other FFLs.

    Coolers

I believe the RTIC coolers may actually be better than the Yeti, and I have a Yeti.
  7. I bet a case cleaning brush would solve that.
  8. I understand liking the 26 and it does have some advantages. Fortunately, the shield is so cheap I see no reason most people can't have one also. My last shield cost me $360 OTD new off gunbroker.
  9. That is a brilliant choice. Oh, and that is the way I carry it. The 7 round magazine with the 8 round magazine, minus the sleeve, as a spare.
  10. I don't know which Speer Gold Dot load it was in 9mm, but Georgia State Patrol had a pretty disturbing incident where a head shot through a windshield failed to incapacitate. In fact, the suspect was not even hospitalized. This occurred outside of Atlanta last June. http://www.tiftongazette.com/news/names-released-in-shooting-incident-on-i/article_e05779a2-03e9-11e5-8e28-7f5523ef2e1d.html
  11. New York City is about the only large department that I know of where officers buy their own duty weapon. City of Austin used to but they started supplying officers their weapons a few years ago. NYPD is a very strange place. Officers buy every piece of gear except the radio, the ammo, and the badge. That is why you see some really ugly and worn uniforms and belts. I was told by a friend that works there that officers take pride in nasty looking gear as if it shows their experience. Rookies have to earn their wear. Their are still several hundred revolvers worn as duty weapons because officers refuse to switch and buy new gear.
  12. Actually, the NY trigger spring is not that bad. I was told about four years ago new recruits could no longer choose the Sig 226. They were limited to the G19 and 5946 for on duty weapons. If you were on the job before 1996 or so you could still carry a 38spl as a duty weapon. The only authorized 9mm ammo is the 124 plus p Gold Dot. It is the only ammo you can carry and even practice with.
  13. Just to add fuel to the fire, I discovered some Gold Dot, 135 gr 38spl that had been my carry load to have some rediculously under performing velocity. Through a 2" S&W j frame they were traveling a whopping 750fps.
  14. I am on my third Shield and they do seem to break in. I purchased the first shield I ever put my hands on in the spring of 2012. The trigger broke in after only about 100 squeezes. Then I picked up a 9mm after a foolish experiment with an XDS. That trigger was utterly smooth when I traded it to one of my best friends and it had been fired thousands of times. Many people borrowed that shield and it was responsible for many people buying their own shields. That same friend picked up a PC version and we agree that it's trigger feels about like the well used one I was just speaking of. Earlier this week I took possession of a model 10035 and its trigger is better out of the box than I remember of the other two.
  15. Steelharp, I disagree with your opinion. I believe the shields are some of the best all around handguns on the market, and especially for their value. I have felt better triggers on higher dollar guns, but they have the best striker fired trigger of any gun I have ever shot. I don't know why any given shield has a better trigger than their full size counterpart. I find the shield is easier to shoot than many guns twice its size and weight, and I find reports of malfunctions nearly unheard of. I wish the same shield platform was available in a longer and taller full size. Something like a slim, 10 round 4.25" barrel. It would easily serve as a duty weapon and an all season IWB concealed weapon.
  16. I don't know why it is but Shields have better triggers than full size and compact M&Ps. I hate regular M&P's, but for whatever reason my Shields have had better triggers than even my Glocks. I didn't really care for the XDS; I sold it to go back to the Shield.
  17. It is simply because there is less case capacity with a heavier bullet.
  18. I wanted one until I saw how big they were. The one for the Ruger LCP was big enough to hold about any smart phone on the market. You just don't realize how big they are and have to be. Then when I saw the one for the Glock 27 I knew there was no way it would work for me. It really looked as if it would stand out and be too obvious.
  19. Dear S&W:
  20. One of my close friends bought a Victory and had to send it it back for FTE on every kind of ammo. He just recently got it back and it eats everything but really cheap stuff.

    LE Discount

Will, I believe that to be correct also.

    LE Discount

It is really going to matter a lot for what weapon make you are looking for.
  23. You keep saying it would be faster than a bolt action but very few shooters care about that. The advantages of a bolt gun come with tight actions, precise lookup, the option of free floating barrels, and simplicity in a gun you do not have to lift from the bench to chamber the next round. If a shooter is going to sacrifice any of those they are just going to an auto feeder.
