  1. PAO still hasn't released a name of the slain officer but they say he was a father of two and a 20 year veteran of Law Enforcement. Keep his family in your prayers.
  2. That pawn shop is one of those that employees are forbidden from carrying handguns unlike most other pawn shops. This did happen in a questionable part of town. Its one of those areas that you wouldn't think twice about going there especially during the day time but might be a little cautious at night. Eleven years ago I had a friend from childhood get shot dead in that exact same parking lot. His death was related to standing up to a guy that had been giving his sister some trouble, or so I was told.
  3. Police Sergeant Killed Responding To Robbery In Brainerd; 2nd Officer Hit Incident Happened At Pawn Shop Near Big Lots And Rib And Loin On Brainerd Road posted April 2, 2011 A Chattanooga police sergeant was killed while responding to a robbery at a pawn shop in Brainerd on Saturday morning. A second city police officer was shot, but the bullet deflected off the vest he was wearing. The robber was wounded during the gunfire and was taken to Erlanger Hospital. He was under heavy guard. The officer who was killed was shot in the head when confronting the robber. The officers were responding to a robbery at the U.S. Money Shops near Big Lots. The location is behind the Rib and Loin Restaurant in the 5900 block of Brainerd Road. An employee of the Rib and Loin said shots were fired around 10:42 a.m. Employees of Big Lots also told of hearing gunshots. A host of police officers quickly converged on the scene, including city officers and those from the sheriff's department. A wide area was taped off ranging from near the South Chickamauga Creek bridge to beyond East Brainerd Road. Police spokesperson Jerri Weary released this statement shortly after noon, "Chattanooga Police are currently on the scene at 5900 Brainerd Road where an officer has been shot and killed. "Police responded to U.S Money Shops next to Big Lots on a robbery from business call around 10:30 this morning. Immediately when officers arrived, they encountered one male suspect who began firing at police. A gun battle and foot pursuit ensued and at least one officer was shot and killed during the gun fight. "The suspect was shot at least once and has been taken to a local hospital where he is being treated. This is all preliminary information." Taken from The chattanoogan.com

    RUGER LC9

I played with one today and loved it but Im going to wait. Gt dist had 2 left and they were $329 which would make it $375 ish after tax and transfer. It resembles the lcp inside and not a sr9 thankfully. It was very easy to take apart and reassemble.
  7. Thanks everyone. I really didnt think I was going to get a 45 after I saw the new lc9 but Ill get one of those by summer. Cant wait to try the new 30 sf out.
  8. I picked up a 30sf from GT's. It feels a lot better than a regular 30 even though I have large hands. I feel it will work in most of my holsters especially after a few times. I am curious if it is as accurate as everyone claims there 30's are.
  9. I forgot about the Chief Special coming in a 45 and didnt know about the sig p245. Thanks
  10. I have handled a few 220's but most are a little big. Not too many of the compact ones out there. It is an option in my mind.
  11. I'm leaning towards another glock 36, the 21 is just too large of a grip for me to try to conceal. I had a 30 and didnt care for it too much but I would be willing to try a 30sf even though IWB it is everybit as wide as it looks.
  12. Sigma 380, the worst mistake ever by S&W.
  13. I m looking to get a new 45 acp for concealed carry and am wondering what everyone likes these days. Not really looking for a 1911, and kahr's have disappointed me. I can get new Glock 45's for 530ish out the door at gt's so I may go that route just because of value. I just wish there were a full grip. So whats everyone think XD45c, M&P, or ? Trying to stay under $700

    keltec

250 if it still looks very new and nice. I have never had a single problem with any Keltec, just with some ammo in them. The only problem I have with a p11 is it is so close to size of a baby glock I dont carry it.
  16. They have a great reputation. My grandpa was a big fan of Hipowers and 1911's. He never cared for hipowers on anything other than 9mm, he said they just werent made for anything other 9mm.
  17. I assume you are wanting a leather dress casual looking belt but stronger? I bet Craigs may have a few in Knoxville. I know GTs in Chattanooga has them, there gould and gouldrich brand.
  18. There are a lot better choices of places to eat and see a movie than anywhere near Brainerd. I wouldnt go there even if I was looking for a confrintation.
  19. GT's is in the Chattanooga area. There in N GA but transfer to the pawn shop 1 mile up the road.
  20. I was at GT's this morning and the only trade in Glocks were 2nd gen 22's (3mags,NS)for about $330out the door. I think there was one 21 but it wasnt as clean as some of the 22's . There were a whole lot of Sigs, H&K's, and a few Berettas and fullsize revolvers.
  21. There good buys compacts and subs are a little rare. I got my old 26 trade in for $370, I could have got one brand new LE Glock for $60 more. I got a 30 for $400 but it was well worn. Most have more than 2000 rounds through them but thats nothing. Good luck. GT's has some nice tradeins if you ever make it down here.
  22. I guess the extended slide release could be a result but I never experienced it with any of mine. Mine would just not hold the slide back on the last round if it messed up. I would look at what brand of ammo it malfunctions with. Are you positive your not limp wristing?
  23. Gk I must say dollar for dollar my Don Humme is a great holster, I like it better than my Kholster.
  24. I have found for the most part trying to sell a gun with a laser you are limiting the amount of potential buyers. Offer it as a package or chance to buy it all seperately. Resale on lasers other than some CTG stink, you might get half your money back on the laser.
  25. With the laser ,one mag but no box, I would think about $500. Without the laser the gun might be worth 420ish.
