  1. Honestly the arrest to search crap an officer will get by with but I have never been denied a warrant to search a car. I have been denied them to search a house. Judges just expect you to have a lot more privacy in your home than in your vehicle on a state or county road. Warrants for vehicle searches are handed out like candy. I prefer to get a k9 out so Ill know if its even worth searching because most of the cars you want to search are filthy. I dont mind getting dirty if its worth it. Dogs will hit on residue also I leave the occupants in the vehicle so if the dog hits on the car I'm searching everyone one at a time to find that one joint in a pocket or that one hydro that I otherwise would not find. In a consented vehicle search I cant search the occupants other than a terry frisk.
  2. Im less likely to find a joint behind a stereo just by searching than a dog, that will search out and detect something behind a stereo to alert me. You really just have to take case by case.
  3. There's a lot of good information on here but I'll tell you I have asked verbally for consent to search and their verbal response has often decided the outcome of the entire traffic stop. I will not say I have poured out beers or destroyed a joint on the side of the road but it happens everyday. However, I have put people through the system for paraphernalia once the dog hit on the car if they refuse consent. If I get a warrant or a k-9 out there I'm going to make it worth my trouble. A lot of the time I search a car to rule someone out as a suspect. A few nights ago I was told a white sedan was traveling from Walmart at a high rate of speed, the driver was smoking weed and possibly involved in other suspicious activity. I spotted a vehicle matching the description and they were speeding, upon searching the cabin of the vehicle I determined the driver was either being set up or I possibly had picked the wrong vehicle. Consent to search is a lot like consenting to a Field Sobriety Test cooperation can either help or hurt you. A few years ago an hour before the end of my shift I stopped a suspected DUI. I had already called the wife and told her to start fixing breakfast. The driver said he didn't want to take any test. (This is what defense attorneys tell there clients to say to police.) Well guess what, A DUI that refuses all tests are the easiest to process so to jail he goes. He could have been allowed to call a friend after doing the first part of my simple test.

    .22WMR Derringers

The NAA minis are amazing. I have the 22lr I wish I would have gotten the Mag and the longer barrel. As far as the Bonds Arm Derringers a 357 snubby may be a lighter more concealable option. They are neat though.
  5. I found the ProMag 10rd LCP mags to be reliable. There Like $20 at Academy Sports. Don't waist money on the Laser.

    Kel-Tec PF9

Don't rule out a CM9 Kahr, as I believe there is still a extra mag promotion going on still.
  7. How ironic that they have no friends in their friends list.
  8. There was a 686 2.5 no lock on ###. It was one of the gun show guys out of Nashville selling without a ffl. I think it was $550

    Kel-Tec PF9

I agree with what every one else has said. <$300 New out the door. If your just going to shoot it occasionally then the snappy recoil will not bother you. Don't waist your time with the laser, I found mine to be a waist. If your just going to shoot it 100 rds or less a year then the LCP may be a better gun for you. Todays 380's are what yesterdays 38spl were and look how many people died from them.
  10. Two totally different guns there my friend.
  11. I have tried a lot of diiferent mods but I prefer them stock other than a $.25 trigger job. I do have one mag with ext on my 27 and I really like it.
  12. If they remade the Dirty Harry movies I wonder what modern firearm he would carry?
  13. The only problem I have with a Beretta 92FS is that they are boreing and reliable boreing. I have fired probably 10k-15k rounds through them with the only problem being I discovered a bad magazine one time. If it was the only gun I was able to own I would be quite ok with it. You just can't go wrong. Lightere than most 1911's butstill a little heavy for around the clock carry.

    Gen 4 Glock 17

Yes, I like most with big hands thought I wanted the large strap on. Comes to find out I liked the naked backstrap.
  15. Yes, shoot away. 460 is a bad boy, dont get used to that mild 454/45lc

    Gen 4 Glock 17

Im a happy Gen 4 owner but even with big hands I like it without a backstrap on it. I also prefer a Gen 3RTF over all ot them.
  17. She just doesn't want a hi power rifle round traveling 800-1000 meters. Muzzleloader, pistol, shotgun slug, and etc keeps that stray shot from traveling into a horse pasture or the subdivision down the road.Like I said before, I believe the SBR in question is a larger caliber 6.8 or 7.62
  18. Good eye alleycat for catching that!

    Glock 34 ??

I'd be intrested. Can you send me the first few characters of the serial? I'm curious how old it is.
  20. He was talking more like a 7.5" to 10.5" barrel NFA registered SBR with a rifle stock. I personally would not spend the $250 for the tax stamp but I am curious if it's legal to hunt with anyway.
  21. So a friend of the family was scouting my wifes familys property yesterday and we crossed paths. I had hunted there before but all I ever saw was does, the bucks are there I just never saw them. I happened to mention that the grandmother doesn't like for whoever to use rifles but she wouldn't ever know anyway. He said he was aware of that and that he had been thinking about a short barrel rifle build and was wondering if it was addressed anywhere by TWRA. Anybody know? For sake of arguement lets just say it's bigger than 5.56.
  22. I'll take a refurbed German Sig any day. Don't even worry if it is one, it doesn't matter.
  23. Use a large enough caliber(when possible) and it will not matter.
  24. Where did you find the conversions at? I have about given up.
  25. It will probably hold a tighter shot group than my Remington 700.
