  1. Everyone agrees on the requirement of a good belt. The holster thing I want to tell my experience. Like everyone else I have tried dozens of holsters of just about every type and have determined OWB really works the best for me. If it is a situation where OWB is not going to work I resort to a smaller gun in the pocket. When it comes to carrying a Glock I found my absolute favorite holster is about the cheapest holster you can buy. The Glock Sport Combat holster runs about $12 and holds the weapon closer to your body than any others I have tried.
  2. No, you can posses that firearm on your own property as long as you are not a felon or have been convicted of domestic violence. Don't point it at anyone. If it is a handgun keep it holstered and if it is s long gun keep the muzzle pointed down. Please don't push the envelop by standing outside with an Ar-15 slung across your chest, lol.
  3. I probably only shot 100 rounds of .40 through my stock 20 barrel. I never experienced an issue.
  4. I really want to say he is a POS, but that I respect his decision to exercise a right that I and others fought for him to have. However, I often wonder if the NFL isn't behind these stunts just to get in the news and to be the topic of every discussion. It seems like every year there is one or two NFL scandals or events making people tune in.
  5. Alien Gear makes a tuck able IWB for the 3913. It is not supposed to fit that lady Smith version though; the frame is different.
  6. If the Versa Carry works for you it would be hard to imagine a better gun than a 3913 to carry that way. I would prefer a 3953 but you just have to have that mental note of checking the position of the safety when you draw.
  7. I am not knocking the Versa Carry, but carry a bigger gun than a mouse gun if you are going to use the VC. The p3at has a long enough trigger I would be ok carrying with a round chambered, and without a holster that covers the trigger. When it comes to the p3at, TCP, and LCP they are all so similar it's a matter of personal preference. I prefer the LCP, but your mileage may very. I have never owned a p3at but I owned several p32's and loved them. I just think the LCP has an overall better fit and finish.
  8. I used to shoot some plastic 55 gallon drums. I would spray paint dots on them, and as a bonus we had to destroy them after they were triple rinsed. These were used to transport pesticides. I found out that .380, .32acp, and 22lr, and 22mag would penetrate one side and often remain in the barrel when fired from handguns. Sometimes the rounds would dent or stick in the other side.
  9. It's a fair price if you don't mind the Taurus name on the side.
  10. The VA clinic in Chattanooga has helped several friends of mine with PTSD. I can confidently say they are more than capable of meeting his needs. If he needs someone specifically to talk to I know some people I can ask.
  11. Rest in peace young officer, and God bless your family.
  12. The little department that I worked at did get a grant to buy a new crown vic but I can't say if it was a federal grant or not. I am inclined to believe that it was; it was the only new car I saw the entire time I worked there. This same department bought used crown vics at the state auction so all the cars were used THP cars. Truthfully, I don't think they ever gave us more trouble than any car you could have bought used with more than 100k miles. I do think the crown vics were great cars. The impalas and intrepids that were bought before I came along had a legacy for being junk. The city council swore off buying anymore front wheel drive cars. There was one Impala that was estimated to have cost $10k in repairs just to keep on the road for one fiscal year. Contrary to popular belief, government agencies do not do the recommended maintenance. They are lucky to get an oil change every 6 months.
  13. I love all the Safariland ALS Level III holsters.
  14. I have found some nice furniture deals at AAFES in the past, but otherwise you can shop around and beat their prices.
  15. I bet you were shooting light for caliber bullets. Many people, including myself, shoot 180 gr 40's really well.
  16. That's a first. I have heard of people, including myself, putting the slide on without the barrel. Can you not squeeze the trigger and then take the slide off the frame?
  17. I am a huge Andy Griffith Show fan and I have never seen anything other than a Colt in Barney's holster, hand, or small of the back.
  18. Actually, the LCR should fire 32acp reliably enough for target practice. The 32acp will be slightly hotter than 32s&w long. Sometimes you can find European 32acp ammo for $15/50. http://www.sgammo.com/product/32-auto-acp-ammo/1000-round-case-32-auto-73-grain-fmj-ammo-made-geco-hungary
  19. I won't argue that the p32 is the best Keltec, but I think any p11 could just about give the same reliable service. I don't know that I have ever heard a complaint about a sub2000 either though.
  20. The pf9 was not a good pistol. I have had several p32's and loved every one of them. I don't know if I could justify spending more on a p32 than I could buy a LCP for, and LCP's are cheap now.
  21. Yeah, that is a 5" M&P.
  22. Just to help give you a ballpark figure, I paid $2500 for a metal roof on a home 1200sqft.
  23. I as well say Northern Water snake. Actually, copperheads love water. Of the dozen or so I have seen in my life all but maybe two were in or near the water.
  24. The average gun shop only makes about $25 on each handgun so they normally are happy to take transfers.
  25. The issue with Doubletap and certain ammo has to do with the primers being pierced by the firing pins. This leaves you unable to open the thing, but most of the time a couple of dry fires will release the firing pins. If not, I can easily pop the barrel off by pushing the takedown pin. I just had to find what ammo it likes and stick with them. I shoot mostly 124 gr HST +p in it. It's had probably a whole box of those without a single issue. It's not that the recoil is totally fierce; the shape just doesn't make it comfortable to shoot because it is the thickness of a dime. I do have a 45 Win mag derringer and full power loads exceed 44mag. It's just a different kind of recoil than the Doubletap. I have always had a soft place in my heart for derringers of different types. My father always toted one of some sort.
