^Yes, also a lot of Police Departments use 40SW so if your in a self defense shooting your defense attorney can argue that you choose to equip yourself the same as the local police. After all gangbangers use a 9, and gun nut rednecks use a 45! I have seen numbers before saying the 40 had a slightly higher percentage of one shot stops than a 45, but 357mag had them both beat according to the FBI. The average 40 has a small edge of ft/lbs of energy over a 45 but it's marginal. There is a lot to be said for pure mass though.

As far as legality I don't know. It may depend on if it's posted properly. I do know they don't want them there. VW has told even some reserve police officers they are not welcome with even their weapons in there cars. Under HR 218 they couln't be prosecuted though. On duty officers must be invited onto the property. With whats going through the House I think you will be allowed to keep it in a car there but it may not be a good career move and the only forbiden by law place would be Nuke Plants as far as I know.

I thought I would make a thread to help members that are intrested in OD Glocks locate some for sale. I'm not promoting any of these stores but trying to save members from spending unnecessary money on Gunbroker. On 4/20/12 I discovered a NIB OD Glock 21 for $549 plus tax and fees at South Rhea Gun shop in Graysville, TN I'll update as I find OD Glocks for sale or as they sell.

I can't believe some of these couriers that deliver drugs to the pharmacies havn't been robbed. I see the same vehicle delivering at the same time 4 or more times a week at the neighborhood pharmacy here.

Theres some good LEO's in East Ridge

A trusted friend that's a FFL, at a actual gunship said it will cost him 385 just to get them to his door. I can bet money on his word. So I would guess anything under 415 would be a deal this close to its release.

That's a good first pistol.

Ive had a Supertuck and a Kholster. I actually have recently bought another Kholster but I will not trim this one. I found the Kholster a lot more comfortable than the Supertuck as well as I believe they are quicker to ship(maybe cheaper).

So I've heard on other forums one or two people have gotten them for 400 before tax and fees.

They could have shaved off some of the weight. It weighs the same as a baby Glock.

The same sourse(police distributor outside Atlanta)that told me a month or two ago that Glock would be making a run of colored frames told my cousin that another wholesale vendor would be getting another color around September. Apparently the FDE isn't loved by everyone is why this was brought up. My cousin took me there when I was visiting a while back, this vendor still had a couple new OD Glocks but he wouldn't transfer. Who wants to bet the new color will be a tan?

I never knew a 10 used large primers. That's enough reason for me to have one. There's a shortage of small pistol primers and it's going to get worse.

The slide on a XD compact is the same for a XD Service if that helps.

Just to clarify we shot the 357Sig through a 40 barrel. It was by accident but it really got me to thinking about the usefullness of a 40 if in a emergency you could shoot 357sig if thats all you had.

You know I had a OWB holster for a XD service that fit my Glock 30 like a glove. Makes me wonder if a Glock 30 holster may fit a XD Service.

I'm almost comfortable with only handguns. I have been in a combat zone before and liked toteing a rifle, but give me a good accurate reliable handgun and I'm fine for home defense/ emergency hunting. If you think you will get off 2k rounds before your killed or seriously injured I doubt it. Truth be known even with my training I doubt I could defend off more than 12 home invaders during a (insert event) before I was over run. I think 1000 rds of ammo for four people/4 weapons may be more than enough. If I were you I think I would want 4 Glocks in 9mm(any model) May not be a bad idea if one was actually a 40SW with a 9mm conversion barrel because I feel 40SW may be one of the most available calibers during a shortage because it was before. I was present when a friend shot a whole mag of 357sig out of a 40 barrel without it blowing up. The rounds actually hit paper. We got the loaded mags mixed up. Apparantly we aren't the only ones to ever do this so in an emergency I'm taking a chance on a 357sig in a 40 barrel if thats all I got.

5.11 Tactical Double Duty TDU Belt - need info pls
Patton replied to Geno's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
No there fine. I wish mine was actually sturdier. I have a nylon Patagonia belt that I bought at Rock Creek outfitters for like $25 that is what I wear as much as any of my reenforced ones. -
Exactly what i was going to say! Honestly you can't go wrong with any of those 3. The Glock may be the easiset to "wear" day to day.

FWI, I have never had a problem out of a Keltec or a Lcp that wasn't due to being new and tight. I like J frames but I don't find them as concealable as most people do.
-
I actually saw this coming. I was in a Gun shop outside of Smyrna, GA that my cousin took me to that still had new OD Glocks. I was talking to the guy who said he was expecting a new release of "colored frames to hit any time now" Being that he was trying to sell new OD's for $549 I didn't see anything he had to gain from lieing to me.

Oddly enough one of my friends is dealing with the same roof leak problem with her Jk.

The biggest problem I have with people open carrying is those that are too weak or untrained with weapon retention not to mention no retention holsters. I was talking about this with a fellow LEO who said the day before he was at Walmart and there was a 90 year old man who couldn't hardly walk OC a huge SA revolver in a flimsy holster. I have seen plenty of trained law enforcement nearly get there weapon taken away just for the sake of embarassement.

As far as pocket carry I believe the weight will turn me off more than the size. I pocket carried a G26/27 for a long time comfortably. The XDS is thinner but a hair taller than a G26/27.

I just shot my Gen 4 G23 today for the first time. I can tell a huge difference with the new RSA compared to a Gen3. It's odd that I didn't notice it as much with a Gen4 G19. I have successfully put 1000+ rounds through Gen4's without troubles.
