  1. BTW, it is a tape crimp, I was confused.
  2. Ok, I raised the die and then lowered the center piece and that took care of it. I'm still having the case coming out of the chamber hitting the top of the next round though. I may not be able to shoot this type bullet and may have to go to a RN
  3. I loaded my first 20 45acp lead semi wad cutter roads today. These were my first attempts at 45 rounds but not my first reloads. So my problem is I am cutting into the bullet with the 3 piece Lyman dies. I'm guessing the roll crimp is built into the bullet seater die? The bullets are loosing the wax ring as it's getting pushed by the casing and some times the bullet is loosing pieces lead when seating the bullet. I'm using the same brand dies and the same brand bullets as in my 38 and 44 reloads. The actual diameter of the bullets are .452. This is what I've measured and whats on the box. I'm measuring OAL of about 1.24 and If I seat in the wax ring it's too long ~1.26(and won't load into a magazine). Are the bullets too big in Diameter or is it something with the dies? Also I have manually cycled them in my CW45, my only 45 btw, and they the opening of the casing catches on part of the slide 1 out of 6 times. They load fine and will eject if there isn't a round in the magazine all the time.
  4. Well, my wife finds the LCP recoil lighter than a Airweight or LCR standard 38 recoil if the helps. She actually prefers a Keltec p32 for reasons other than recoil though.
  5. If I were you and I was not adding anymore guns to my are arsenal, I would buy one more CM9 magazine. I would then buy as many Hi capacity Glock 9mm as I thought I might be for the worse case scenario I might find myself in. I think I would want to be able to load up 100rds for my Glock. I would just buy like 6 Glock 17 magazines.
  6. It is strongly advised to test every magazine you plan on using in your weapon. I knew a trusted source that reported troubles with using a full size mag in a particular subcompact. It was determined to be troublesome due to a shift while gripping it. I have never experienced the problem myself with 1000's of rounds with extended mags.
  7. My friend has a sonic and it cleans well but I don't know how it does for burrs though.

    Opinions on Kel-tec

Zimmermans PF9 was recovered with a full mag and a empty casing in the chamber. Im sure there will be test done in a lab to figure out what it takes for his firearm to do that. It may help build his self defense case.
  9. She's an hour from Huntsville. Anybody know anywhere in NE Alabama, she's inlay 20 min from Downtown Chattanooga.

    Opinions on Kel-tec

I'm a very happy Keltec owner. I've owned several and have vowed to keep this p32 the wife had claimed.
  11. ^ That's nice to know. There is a lot of tightness in the entire gun. Probably why they need a break in.
  12. So I let my Chief take it to the range today to play with....... It's a winner so far. 100 rounds without a malfunction, kicked like a mule, and he says it might be one of the most accurate polymer guns he has ever fired. I am going to shoot a mag through it in the morning.
  13. Well, I was eyeing the 45 because I was intrigued by using 1911 magazines for it. I also didn't own a 45 because I never could find one that I liked the fit of. The Glock 36 was always a possibility but for more than $125 less the CW45 was a winner
  14. Well, I own a CW45 now. I've racked the slide and dry fired about 100 times. If I hold the trigger and rack, waiting for trigger reset(I know there is not one) I have to squeeze the trigger twice for it to fire. I'm not going to judge it until I fire it though. Overall I think I'll be happy as long as its reliable. I just felt like I needed a 45 acp, I need to get some 45 dies to load up all these casings I have.
  15. Yeah I could not make myself spend $550-$600 on a kahr. I have always liked the PM45 but not for the price. A CM45 would be great but who knows if it will see production. The polymer Kahrs just seam like they give a lot of troubles.
  16. I need to find a gun shop somewhere in Northern Alabama for my mother to purchase a Ruger LCP. Anyone have a recommendation? I'm talking around Sand Mtn
  17. That may be the TVA police but not the Nuke plants. I think those guys are actually being put out on the street.
  18. Talk me out of buying a CW45. I'm a Glock and S&W revolver guy. I have this urge to try 45acp ownership again. I am leaning towards the CW45 because I can get a new one for $390ish out the door. I have a desire to adapt the 1911 magazines to fit the CW45. This will not be a carry gun for a while and not unless I'm 100% pleased with it. I'm going to be shooting mostly reloads so the cost of break in doesn't bother me a whole lot. Any good arguments why I should stay clear? Let me put this out there. I am far from being a fan of 1911's
  19. Brass is very plenty some but it's got a few issues keeping it from being a popular reloading round.
  20. ^Yes, also a lot of Police Departments use 40SW so if your in a self defense shooting your defense attorney can argue that you choose to equip yourself the same as the local police. After all gangbangers use a 9, and gun nut rednecks use a 45! I have seen numbers before saying the 40 had a slightly higher percentage of one shot stops than a 45, but 357mag had them both beat according to the FBI. The average 40 has a small edge of ft/lbs of energy over a 45 but it's marginal. There is a lot to be said for pure mass though.
  21. As far as legality I don't know. It may depend on if it's posted properly. I do know they don't want them there. VW has told even some reserve police officers they are not welcome with even their weapons in there cars. Under HR 218 they couln't be prosecuted though. On duty officers must be invited onto the property. With whats going through the House I think you will be allowed to keep it in a car there but it may not be a good career move and the only forbiden by law place would be Nuke Plants as far as I know.
  22. I thought I would make a thread to help members that are intrested in OD Glocks locate some for sale. I'm not promoting any of these stores but trying to save members from spending unnecessary money on Gunbroker. On 4/20/12 I discovered a NIB OD Glock 21 for $549 plus tax and fees at South Rhea Gun shop in Graysville, TN I'll update as I find OD Glocks for sale or as they sell.
  23. Sportsmans Warehouse in Cgattanooga has1 and only 1 for $399 as of 4 o clock on the 18th
  24. I can't believe some of these couriers that deliver drugs to the pharmacies havn't been robbed. I see the same vehicle delivering at the same time 4 or more times a week at the neighborhood pharmacy here.
  25. Theres some good LEO's in East Ridge
