    Charter 327 mag

Very awesome round, especially if you reload. They just don't make enough pistols in .327 mag in my opinion.
  2. Dawson is about 5'9"/160lbs. Medium length dark hair, not receding that I recall. He may have had a mustache.
  3. The death of the officer is probably what raised the eyebrows enough to see the volume that one guy was moving. Dawson admitted to undercovers that he was making 600 wk peddling guns. This news has made its way into the state house so don't be surprised if we don't suffer tremendously for Dawson's actions. They were buying anywhere they could get a deal and selling to whomever they could make a dime off of.
  4. They are the first of many more to come. That Kevin Dawson guy was even told by an undercover he needed to aquire a FFL for his frequent transactions. He blantantly was selling guns for profit and not those from his "personal collection".
  5. Congratulations, you did well. Where did you buy and how much did it set you back?
  6. Lester-weevils, Gt Distributors had a New 17L and a used one a few weeks ago but there not as cheap as other models. The 17L's run about $200 more than the G34's. I think they were new-675 vs Blue label price of $485 for a G34. GSSF price is $25 more, Glock doesnt do an special pricing on 17L's.
  7. I like the rounded nose of the G34 over the G17L.
  8. That Sig 2022 is hard to beat! I talk about it all the time, if I felt the need to buy a dozen magazines for it I would probably get a Glock instead though. Can't beat the low price of Glock mags vs Sig mags.
  9. The Sig 2022 really is a great firearm. Really is a excellent value, but extra mags can be fairly expensive and hard to come across.
  10. ^Sounds like everything I've read over the last few days other places. Thanks guys and gals.
  11. I would agree about the scale and the dispenser but they are worth the very inexpensive price.
  12. Your going to get different opinions on Lee equipment. My friend uses his grandfathers Lee challenger that has 20k plus reloads through it. It's what I learned on and decided to invest in.
  13. I can't help with the No. 5 but normally the bullet style doesn't matter, only the weight. I would start about 15-20% lighter than the +p recipe and work my way up. The difference between standard and +p is a lot minor than most people suspect. I'm only given this advise for when you do find a load chart you'll have something to check it against. 38 spl is very enjoyable to reload and great to start with.
  14. Everyone has their preferences but I'll tell you my biggest regret was not casting my own lead from the begining. What I have spent already just on 9mm (1500)I could have spent on casting to get 500 lead bullets and the rest would have cost me a penny a bullet or less. I do not regret getting a single stage press. Guys with single stage presses and turret presses get a chance to look at every round through every stage if they want to. BTW how do progressive press guys clean the primer pocket and flash hole?
  15. Im curious. What kind of 9mm are you loading for?
  16. Really, just the materials for the loading. Assuming your going to find a way to clean your brass, and there is ways without getting a tumbler. I started with that same kit and bought other items along the way but really don't need them. I haven't found a single pistol casing that has stretched to trim. I'm going to add some things to think about. A loading manual A digital scale(once you use one you'll understand) Calipers Trays or cartridge boxes Case length gauge A hand prime would be nice Extra bushings None of this is required but there items I've thought about or have picked up. I only do handgun calibers currently. Oh you will néed nuts and bolts to attach to your bench.
  17. It's just about a proven fact that the rifle primers don't flatten out as much. I can't find anything that the rifle primers will increase pressure. I can find where the magnum's will but it's between 1-10%. I found that the remington SP and SPM are really the same but mine are Federal.
  18. I may be ok, I got 3000 SP, 400 SPM, and 400 SR. Just trying to plan for the future if I had no SP left. I honestly didn't want to use them on the 40sw but I was reading that the 40's according to some should have had magnum primers from the begining. Others believe that 38spl having so much empty space in the cartridge could benefit from magnum primers.
  19. My 40 and 9mm loads will be for Glocks, I've never had a weak strike even with Monarch and Wolfe ammo but I'd rather use the magnum primers anyway to use less powder.
  20. I'm thinking 180 gr fmj 40sw/ 4.9 grains of Unique/small mag primers/1.13 OAL I've been using 5.9 grains of Unique w small pistol primers(all brands). Does any of these alarm anyone?
  21. Just curious since the shortage of small pistol primers what I should do. I have some small rifle primers and small magnum primers. I was wondering which is the best substitute? Next question is do I use them on 38spl standard pressure, 9mm, or 40sw? I have actually read while trying to research myself that 40sw possible should have small magnum primers anyway but that I may reduce powder charge 5%. Just wondering if anyone has real world experience. It sounds like small rifle primers are the same as small pistol but are stiffer by design and could have weak strikes.
  22. ^. I contacted my source that agreed with what you said. Apparently I got confused because the first auto loading pistols were 38 caliber but the Army requested their new pistols be .45 min. I also thought the grip safety was added after the original design but apparently it was the thumb safety.
  23. Make John Moses Browning happy and get the 38Super. If memory serves me correct, the 1911 was designed around the 38Super.
  24. I've seen them on sale for as little as $299 new so keep that in mind.
