  1. There are so many with HCP now it doesn't really bother me as much. I have pulled over little old ladies that it came back they had a HCP. I had a day that I stopped about 10 cars and almost all had a HCP but almost none were carrying. A while ago it bothered me that our names were listed but not as much anymore.
  2. The CW40 may be a good starting point for you. I had a cw45 which was a little taller, longer, and wider than the cw40 but I always felt it was the perfect size. It's between the sizes of a Glock23 and a Glock 27 but a little thinner.
  3. Looks like you need to put more trigger finger around the trigger.
  4. 40sw ball ammo is almost guaranteed to over penetrate due to its velocity. The NATO 9 mm ammo is higher pressure than standard 9mm fmj. I have no clue what kind of pressure is behind the military's 45 acp loads.
  5. She was a anti back then. A true liberal, she had never fired a gun that she could remember. Her father and uncle were in law enforcement but she hated guns. She honestly didn't know not to cock the hammer back. She has reformed and is a concealed handgun carrying citizen in Alabama now. She rides motorcycles and drinks alcohol now to. I can't believe it's the same woman sometimes.

    At last!

I have a friend that loves his Sig 238 so much he has bought 2 more. He rushed out to buy a 938 only to trade it later for a 4th 238, many of his complaints were the same as yours. I have shot his 238 and found the trigger to be horrible but everything else on the 238 was ok.
  7. My father did it on a DA Revolver when I was a kid. We heard someone at the door and my mom grabbed the revolver and pulled the hammer back. When Dad got home and scared the "stray dog" away he was riding the hammer forward and talking on the phone when it went bang.
  8. I did hear of a Sig P228 in the Army that wouldn't drop the hammer when the decocker was activated. Any mechanical device can fail.
  9. Because after the first round it is too dangerous to ride the hammer forward with your thumb.
  10. I always liked the Berettas due to lots of holsters, magazines, and easy to locate parts. The Glock has all of those and it's a Glock. I honestly have a lot of love for the Berettas but the Glock is a little more technologically advanced and simpler. I don't miss my 92's but I owe my life to a M-9. One downfall of the M-9 is I always faught to keep the barrel from rusting.
  11. More in the past year than ever. The ATF is cracking down on illegal dealers and even gun show dealers. Still, just verify that they are a TN resident and legally able to purchase a handgun. I've heard email records and the buyers phone number will prove more than you realize. Just by email they recovered several 100 handgun transactions from a guy here that was selling FOR PROFIT. Just place it for sale, save the emails with the phone numbers, and ask the questions. I have a digital recorder to which is unnecessary but I did it a few times and you can read off the license plate as they drive off.
  12. I love the Sig 2022, it will be my next gun. When the SR9 came out I was pumped up and went to get one. I was disappointed in the safety because it was too small and hard to manipulate. Taurus and 1911's (not that i want either) actually have a safety you can flip on and off effortlessly. My fear was carrying it with the safety off and it accidentally being engaged, and not being able to disengage. My other problem was myself and the dealer took the SR9 apart and like to have never gotten it back together. We actually had it stuck at one point. I don't see a need for a mechanical safety, I think the long DA first shot from the Sig is better to have. If your set on a Safety check out a S&W M&P. There safety's are large enough to easliy manipulate.

    "Glock Haters"

Arminius ? They actually made some great guns. My dads 22lr DA revolver had 1000's of rounds through it. It was as accurate as any gun I've ever handled.
  14. They just got new Gen4 Glock 31's so they have been happy..
  15. THP actually had a officer involved shooting end with less than desirable results. It took less than a year to switch the entire agency over after they made the decision. I think they were really looking back to the 357mag performance of there old Model 19's and GP 100's. I'm not agreeing with the decision but I believe 357sig is very capable. Can a super hot 9mm or a 40SW do the same thing? I think it can. The Secret Service tested the 357Sig extensively and felt it really was a armor/barrier penetrator. Police are seeing more and more armor wearing criminals. The Chattanooga Police Dept learned how ineffective 45acp is to even level II body armor in April 2011. I don't know if 357sig would have made a difference but it was brought up that the body armor is so much more common to find amongst criminals.

I hate people that are Glock hater, haters. I could care less if you hate or like Glocks. If you ask me what I prefer I will tell you a Glock though.

    Charter 327 mag

Anecdotal? If you would have made the claim it can't be bought at Walmart, I would have agreed or had you stated there's not a need for another pistol caliber. The truth is research shows it is a very capable round. It's very much like rifle caliber performance. Not quite enough for deer but neither is .223 according to most. The only reason I want one is for the extra round and more control than a 357mag without sacrificing much if any. I've never met a single person that said 357recoil in a jframe was pleasurable but the 327 guys claim it is. I do question that because the 32H&R mag is supposed to be like a 38spl.
  19. I didn't notice how pig nosed it was earlier.
  20. Oh that's nice!

    Charter 327 mag

^ It's not a.22. As a matter of fact it's not even close. You've got a slightly heavier bullet than a 32 acp that will easily penetrate twice as deep. Don't even worry about over penetration, bullets are moving so slow after they exit a body or thick wall that they don't travel much further. I would put money on a 327FM doing everything a 38spl can with one bullet left over. I'm surprised that the 327FM isn't loud. They say it has less recoil than 357mag, that makes me wonder if it may have less velocity than they advertise.

    Charter 327 mag

If you buy into it, it's supposed to make up for all the bad effects of 357 mag. They say it feels like shooting a 38 with the effects of 357 mag. Performance exceeds 7.62x25 which wears faster than the same guns in 9x18mm , makes me wonder how safe it is shooting full power 327mag in guns that are built on 38 platforms.

    How loud was it?

    Charter 327 mag

Is it perfect? No, but it serves a purpose. I was told one time that a 327mag is one of the biggest threats in concealable calibers to my Level III body armor and there's 6 rounds of it. Supposedly the slimmer a round with extreme velocity the greater the penetration to armor. Ever since I started reloading I have had the itch for a 327 but I haven't found the right gun chambered in it. I though about a SP101 but would rather have it in 357 since its bigger than a J frame anyway.
