1. .357 in a j is a beast, don't even consider a follow up shot quickly.
2. I have several j frame Smiths and a LCR, the Smiths just have nastalga and feel like guns. The LCR shoots just as well, I do short stroke the trigger though, but the LCR handles well and operates like a well built machine should. I have seen used LCR's for $350 before but they don't come around often and definetly not now.
3. Your right the charges may not stick but he's out money for a bondsman, attorney, probably missed work and will miss more.
4. This is going to get good.
5. $700 will get you two LCP's ($299 retail) and about a box of ammo for each. Keltecs have come down in price somewhat lately, but the cheapest I have seen them new is $250. If you wanted to try the Taurus TCP they will run you about $279 You can sometimes find the matte grey Taurus 38spl from Academy for $279 but I doubt they have any now. That is about the cheapest you can find a 38 spl for, at least a light carriable one.
6. Gifting a firearm is perfectly legal at least in TN and GA as long as both parties are residents of the sme state and neither party is a convicted felon or any of the other crap to prevent someone from ownership.
7. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="nightrunner" data-cid="864795" data-time="1356054568">
Not really relating to castle doctrine and i highly advise against it but supposedly if you are involved in an otherwise justified clean self defense shoot, they cant charge you with intent to go armed.

Strange but true in TN.
8. It doesn't concern me, but I prefer kydex or a Glock sport/combat.
9. There are a lot of people that hate Taurus' but swear by the PT92. One thing about the XD is the finish doesn't Sean to hold up well. The fact that not many police departments use XD's is huge, it's silly that people will buy a handgun because x police department uses them. I'm not a recoil sensitive guy but the high axis of the XD kind of turned me away.
10. ^I was under the impression S$W didn't advice for it to be done that way?
11. I have owned a lot of pocket .380's and revolvers. If concealabilty is top priority the .380. I tend to prefer my small .38 spl's for carry though. The .38 spl with std pressure is only slightly more potent with less capacity. I have never had a reliability issue with a LCP or Keltec. They are generally cheaper but do require quite a bit of ammo for break in and testing. I'm pretty confident after 50rds through a revolver and they are hardly ever ammo picky. I think one reason I got so involved with .38's is because of reloading and how easy .38 is to reload. Something very important is a lot of ladies can not pull vack the slide on a keltec,LCP, kahr 380, sig .38@ or whatever. Just something about them. With a revolver generally someone can know it and be proficient for a gunfight with less training. Just do some things for you to think about.
12. Yeah really either a Glock or a M&P will do you right. Something very important no one has mentioned is the triggers. Glocks out of the box are very consistent and once you get used to it is fine for ehatever tou need it for. I have noticed out of the box M&P's can be great or terrible. The apex drop in for a M&P is supposed to be match grade.
13. I like the M&Ps but the M&Pc is between the 19&26 size, actually a good thing. The M&P isn't quite as simple in parts and takedown. We also don't have as easy of access to spare parts with M&P's. You also have to use that stinking pin to field strip. I will say the M&P is very reliable and ergonomical. Like all other's the made it a little bit larger than the Glocks.
14. You can't beat a Glock for mag availability. A Beretta 92 could come close and then a S&W 59 series. Honestly there wasn't much of a reliabity issue, it was more of a brass to face issue. Even the BTF has plauged the newer Gen3 as much as Gen4's. A pre 08 Glock is known to be a slight bit more trouble free. I however haven't had any issues with mine but I m going off of reports. Glock will still make it right if there is any troubles. As far as Gen3 vs Gen4. It is personal preference. I do not notice rubbing IWB from a Gen4. I do like the smaller grip of gen4's even with my large hands. The dual recoil spring does diminish recoil on geb4's. Like I said personal preference, a few left ganders I know still run the right hand mag release a release with trigger finger.
15. Domestic terrorist if i have ever seen them. We are actually very fortunate they haven't wised up to IED's. I won't go into it but take the Oklahoma City bombing and how easy it would be to simulate it. I heard about two years ago that schools would be the next great terrorist target, I'm sure they are sitting on their couch saying "wow".
16. IDK, I have seen the Berettas and Sigs owned by the military wear out. Of course this is mostly springs and pins. I have not been around H&K's long enough but I'm sure they are about the same as Glocks, Smith's, Sigs or what have you. I just don't know that any one particular male will outlast the others.
17. They had one (some) yesterday, or at least the Hixson one did.
18. Ok with Unique and level across the top: .5cc dipper was throwing about 3.8 gr .7cc dipper was throwing about 5.8 gr Use this information at your own risk. These are just my findings and your results may differ.
19. There are some great S&W 45 acp autos. I know your open to other calibers but the 3rd gen autos are fine carry pieces.
20. I actually have used the lee measuring spoons with unique and for 38spl. How odd right? I use 4.7 grains of Unique for 158 gr LSWC, measured out on a scale. I bought the powder dippers just for checking my scale and sometimes to keep from reseting the powder dispenser and scale. The powder dippers and chart are really conservative. I'll look later and measure the spoon (is it the .5cc?) to see what that amount of Unique weighs. Honestly I see no issue with using dippers if you are positive it's the right amount. Also the Lee Nanual Loader is good for occasionally reloading.
21. I know the short barrel takes away from the velocity but it really was a decent size. Definetly a K/L frame size, I know it's a handful. I wouldn't be so intrested but for the price it's hard to beat.
22. Yeah I don't think he could have as easily gotten the irons for wearing it at a public place like a park like he did at a private property.
23. I never had a problem with someone waiting to pull over in a safe lit parking lot. The only real chase I ever got into I didn't realize it was one until about 3 min into it.
24. Fact- Cities that have unmarked, slick top, or low profile police cars have a lower crime rate. I never would have believed it until I worked in one. Honestly chiefs, mayors, and council members hate unmarked cars because even when they sit in front of a house residents say the police never come down my street. When a marked car drives by the residents love seeing the marked police car. Flashy police cars help mayors get reelected and the brass more money. A city full of unmarked cars gets people thinking every car on the road might be a police car. It's true, I have seen it.
25. What I mean by people are the victims is the government is not claiming an intrest but someone(the mall) chooses for this individual to not be there. By asking him to leave and he rufuses, he is subject to prosecution by the people(mall). Example in a court case they say the people vs. .../ the state vs....../ Smith vs.Johnson
