  1. Yes, the rails are on the modular trigger system. I don't know that I would let that keep me from one though. Have you held one? They are a little on the large side. I guess for home defense it's not an issue.
  2. It's Voodo! In relation to a .40 it's 9 to 13 and 12 to 16 magazine capacities. If you compare it to a Glock your looking at 9 to 10 and 12 to 16.

    Advantage Arms 19/23

I would call them, they always take my name and call when something comes in. I'd be willing to bet they actually have one anyway.
  4. I'm a 40 fanboy but the 9's in the XD's have magnificent capacity.

    Advantage Arms 19/23

Gtdist.com has them for like $269. I saw some in the showroom a couple of weeks ago.
  6. Yes, the p2022 is a great firearm.
  7. I have shot a compact and as long as you like fat guns and loong DA triggers they are great. The government failure was with the Department of Homeland Security and involved some trouble guns that were from the first supply. Sig almost lost a multi million dollar contract because they would not fix or replace the guns. It was a big stink in the organization and just about got nasty, mainly do to the fact how much money was going to be spent and possibly a cut back that was suspected. Government greed! I would buy a P250 but I would like all guns, thoroughly test it. Also, there are several magazine configurations, make sure you order the right type, there is a 1st gen and 2nd gen frame.
  8. Smiths, Colts and Rugers are what you want. If it's a Taurus, Charter Arms, or Rossi then it better be a pretty good deal and function great. My Dad had a Arminius that I would have put against any of my Smiths, I've seen deals on them before for around $200. If its a Rohm and under $50 walk away.
  9. I think th OP is wanting s more concealable revolver than a 4" k frame. From my experience 2" k frames aren't cheap.
  10. The Academy Sports in Hixson had a fair amount of 40 and 45acp. There was some 10mm, 38 super and others like that. Not a single 9mm in the place.
  11. I picked up a Shield this morning for $450 out the door. I said to myself last week that if I found another one I would just buy it, so I did. It was a .40, which is fine by me since I buy 9mm ammo but reload 40S&W. I have not shot it yet but after holding it and slipping it in my pocket, I think it's a little larger than what I thought it would be. If anyone in Chattanooga wants to shoot it PM me.
  12. So a friend of mine goes to buy a handgun for her dad and background comes back and she goes to pay for the gun and background, $450 ish, and her only credit card is declined. She knows why it got declined but she doesn't know what to do. She even tries to call me for a quick loan. The gun shop says we will hold it for you. This happened on 12/23, she made it back to pick it that night with cash. Here is the question. After the 4473 was filed out, was she legally supposed to leave the store and come back and pay for it later?I guess the same day doesn't matter, but what if she couldn't come up with the money or she didn't go back for several days? Would they have to do another background check?

    Stolen pistol

The worse thing I think you can do is post the serial number up on here. You would be better off only telling the police and hoping whoever took it thinks you didnt report it stolen. Maybe it will go to a pawn shop or the serial numbers get ran while on a traffic stop. If someone knows it stolen it will go in deep hiding and only come out during a crime or it may become someones throw away weapon because they know it's stolen. People ask me all the time to run a serial. I say I will but if it's hot I have to keep it. They say oh, never mind.
  14. A NAA Mini Revolver, no seriously I would get one of those $279 Taurus 38spl from Academy.
  15. I'm pretty sure the Kahr P380 locks back.
  16. I have never understood why shooting firefighters happen so much.
  17. Thank goodness I am a .40 fanboy!
  18. I can't tell a bit of difference in the recoil of my G19 and my G23.
  19. First I would advice against the Taurus, except for the PT92, their autos are truly hit or miss. If it honestly feels that great, and feels like the gun for you then give it a try. I have owned a XD and I have shot a friends XDM, but I couldn't tell much of a difference. The XDm is normally a hit with 1911 guys, and if I were a 1911 fan the XDm might impress me more. I only went away from a XD because it lacked aftermarket support and was a lot thicker and taller than a few of its competitors. I had a XD 40 service and other than shooting a little left with everyone was flawless in its ~700 rds. If I bought another Springfield it would be a XD sub com 9mm or a 45 compact. Is a M&P or a Glock out of the question?
  20. Happy Festivus to everyone. May your pole be shiny and your feats be strong.
  21. I'll never forget in 2008 telling a Walmart employee I'll take those last three boxes of ammo you have left and him telling me I can't use them, they are 357sig. I like to have never convinced him that I knew what they were and that I could actually use them. I wish I still had that Glock 32 today.
  22. In the heat of battle you are likely to experience a malfunction and having an extra to go to helps the problem. I don't see a problem with the thought of multiple magazines over one or two hi capacity ones.
  23. Don't mistake my feelings. I think this guy should not be breathing air a more useful human could be breathing. This guy is a idiot.
  24. Ammo is still on most shelves around Chattanooga. At several places, even Walmart, 22lr/2223 is about gone. As I predicted 40s&w seems like it's the most plentyful.
  25. Pretty much, to me it's not worth the pain. A m60 in 357 weighs about 23 oz and can actually make a experienced shooter anticipate recoil. I'm plenty satisfied with what a 38+p in a airweight or LCR feels like. I would love to try a 327 Fed mag, it's supposed to be more pleasant to shoot but still a magnificent performer.
