  1. In 2012 it was reported that DHS purchased 450 million rounds of .40s&w. The LE shortages as more .45 than .40 though.
  2. I have for years been trying to find a .45 that I could enjoy. The M&P 45 particularly a compact really catches my eye. M&P's can have triggers inconsistent from one to another though. All the H&K's in .45 are just too big and expensive. I have shot a Sig 220 and I can tell you it's still a little large but just a pleasure to shoot. A Bersa .45 is actually a interesting gun if you ever get a chance to feel one. What works for one doesn't work for another. You need to handle as many guns as you can before making a purchase.

  4. Amazing how the two undefeated giants did not beat a SEC team in 2012. Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M lost to SEC teams. Once again the BCS bowl system...
  5. Here is what I can tell you about Indiana and carrying in a TN HCP. The restricted places are about the same as they are in TN. I would recommend just staying away from child care centers regardless because that is about they only grey area of carrying there. There gunbuster no weapon signs don't really carry much weight. The way I understand it the responding LEO makes the decisions on charging, ignoring or asking you to go way. I do advice concealing you carry weapon in Indiana, your legal to OC there but people just don't do it. You will get checked if OCing and it will take a long time for them to establish that you are good to go because they gave not always accepted TN HCP.
  6. Does everyone know the difference in Notre Dame and Lucky Charms? One belongs in a bowl and the other doesn't.
  7. I'm sure they are pounding out as many hi capacity magazines as they can for now. I once lived in a state that restricted magazines to 10rds and just getting those were sometimes difficult. I actually suspect that 10rd mags will be a hot commodity for months to come regardless.
  8. According to my wacko neighbor, who i think hates guns, it was done to cover up Ghazni, the fiscal cliff, and something else. I wish I would have listened. This guy is so against government.
  9. They are saying he was a bullying victim and was disarmed by a teacher who was wounded in the incident.
  10. Normally a j frame, a M&P Shield, a LCP or a Glock with an IPhone on the other side. I don't carry a 101yr old phone so why carry a 101 handgun design?
  11. I took my reloading money and bought 4 boxes of that bonded JHP Winchester 180 gr at Walmart in Dayton today for like $100. I left 2 boxes for someone else. It's the repackaged PDX stuff with brass casings.
  12. I know Notre Dame was happy to just be there. I knew the true National Title was awarded when Bama beat the Dawgs for the SEC Title. It was obvious the Irish were in over their head after the first series.
  13. I will be supposed if Bama gives them any points.
  14. Bama is playing great. I expect the score to be 28-0 Bama at half time.
  15. I didn't think any of the 229's were true German?

    Stolen pistol

It sounds strange but I have been told that we must resented them every year.
  17. There are several different versions of caliber conversions. The 357 sig is just a barrel change. Getting the 9mm conversion and the 22lr is where you have to know what your ordering. I get really confused with the internal/ external extractor and all that.

    Stolen pistol

You need to call the detective handling your case and make sure he knows that you have not recovered your firearm.
  19. I he bought a Cmodel then it's a Gen3 which would have had 2 mags except for the blue labels.
  20. I have actually had an easier time finding loaded ammunition then reloading supplies here in town. I've really got all that I need but want more. Powder is as scarce as primers.

    Stolen pistol

Oddly enough this is exactly what I had always been told.
  22. Us 40 fanboys got lucky because that order for 450 million rounds of 40s&w didn't hurt the stockpile too much.
  23. It's the governments fault! No, I am serious. The US Government is always placing rediciously large orders for .40 on such short notices ammo manufacturers particularly Winchester keep large stock of .40 and then when a certain date reaches they will send it for retail and then stock a new lot. Apparently when large agencies order ammo they even tell you they have .40 ready to ship sometimes.
  24. I would say 9.7 gr would be pushing it for a 158 gr bullet. I have shot ~7gr of unique with a 158gr bullet and it felt about righ.
  25. Instead of a double charge you may have had bullet setback or over crimped.
