Tlr1-HL has a slight tilt?
WindHawk replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Interesting. Since it repeats consistently on two completely different guns maybe it's intentional in the design? It does tilt the center of the light's pattern up toward the POI, upper parts of the target, etc. -
I coach/train in the 4-H Shooting Sports program. This activity starts at the 4th grade (8-9 yr.) level. In the BB program we use Daisy 499B guns. They are a single shot, muzzle loaded BB gun made specifically for 5 meter competition and are very accurate We emphasize gun safety, along with skills. The program is 4-position, prone, sitting, kneeling, and offhand. It's a competition based precision shooting activity so some kids find it too "slow" but it's excellent for those that are focused. At the 4-H camps we use .22 lr single shot rifles on a highly supervised range. They can go to camp beginning the summer after the 4th grade. We stress gun safety, proper handling, etc. We get a lot of first time shooters that have never touched a gun. No effort at developing precision shooters. We just work to provide a positive experience with a firearm and hope that they can have success hitting the paper! It's a great experience guiding a hesitant kid through their first time firing a gun. We also hold a Shooting Sports specific camp that includes several shooting sports. We plan to resume both camp experiences next summer.

TN sales tax on gun safes dropped for one year
WindHawk replied to Garufa's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
That's always been true. Just more so today. What's in my safe is worth much more than the price of the safe. Always amazes me what we will spend on our toys but we will complain about the cost to store them securely. -
"Is it foolish of me to sit on and basically hoard these components or should a just go ahead and load 'em up and have shootable ammo ready to go?" Not in my opinion. Unless you're sure what you will need in the future there's a lot more flexibility by having components. You have adequate supplies of loaded ammo, components and equipment to reload what you need to replace. Sounds like a good plan to me.

It's very hard to include every possible detail of a transaction in the sales ad especially if the item being sold is used. To me, "I'll take it" is a firm commitment to the seller that you will buy, period. I prefer to post a "PM Sent" in the thread to let others know and communicate privately with the seller. We've never failed to work out those details and complete the deal. Plus I've gotten to know some great TGO members in the process.

So did everyone keep their head above water?
WindHawk replied to Grand Torino's topic in General Chat
Very interesting video. I'm impressed with the smooth video when the drone was flying in high windy conditions. What type drone are you flying? -
Welcome neighbor. TGO's a great place to learn. All kinds of knowledge here.

Welcome neighbor. You'll find good folks here.

Excellent advice. Probably the best accessory I've added to my 650. I also have a LED strip on the inside of the frame. Can't get too much light for older eyes. I also will recommend installing a roller handle. That ball grip gets tiresome very quickly.

A supply disruption is very hard to handle. I had to work through one when we lost the primary plant that supplied one of our feedstocks due to an explosion. The material was unique and was sole sourced. We were ethical and allocated available finished goods based on past usage, refused new customers, etc. Large customers that historically bought by truckload(s) had to unload one pallet then watch the truck drive away to the next customer with product they both desperately needed to serve their customers. Bottom line. We saved the company but our customers were forced to find other options to continue their businesses. Our most profitable product line was destroyed by loss of customer confidence and their need to serve their customers. In a free market, if there's enough demand for reloading supplies and the existing manufacturers are not able to fill the "vacuum", new sources will develop. That's the basis of "business", identify an unserved need and find a way to fill it. It will take time but this will happen. Unfortunately, we do not live in a true free market. Politics will have a major influence on what ultimately happens.

Surprises me too but there are copies of TV ads for Glock on the internet. Agree on the snl target audience. Maybe somebody's red herring? Especially considering Sleepy Joe's announcement of his anti-gun agenda today.

Looked up and read those reviews. Attitude that company is showing their customers is hard to understand. Thanks for the heads up. Rotsa Ruck!!

Replied. Thanks.

I've been at "50% complete" for years. I don't chose to answer the questions required to be "100% Complete". Everything works fine for me.

And if you get that inch, immediately ask for another foot. Repeat as often as necessary to get that first foot and then more.

I'm working with a group of parents to add air rifle to our county 4-H shooting sports programs. This will give the older shooters that have aged our of the BB program an opportunity to continue in shooting sports. We'll also work with the younger kids that are ready to move up to a higher competition level. We have approved air guns available but need range equipment including spotting scopes and competition style scope and rifle stands. The scopes must be able to focus at 10 meters. Thought I'd throw it out to TGO and see if anyone has some gear they no longer need. We are in the Midstate but can work out arraignments to other areas for the right deals. Thanks for your consideration.

Coming home is a good feeling. Got to do it a few years ago myself. Welcome home.

Let me think about this... Website appears to have been established on Dec 5, 2020. According to their website, they have been able to line up companies all over the US and Canada that freely sell the inventory of scarce products to Jack's Reloading, And they want payment by Venmo or Bitcoin??? Think I'll pass on this one. I'm too busy working with a Nigerian bank to get my huge inheritance from somebody I never knew.

With all the craziness we enjoy here I didn't know a man could stay silent that long! Welcome. Glad you decided to join the party.

This could almost a recording of a conversation I had with a FFL friend recently. He's cussed and threatened daily over the guns/ammo supply situation by complete strangers. Says when he ask why they don't just buy elsewhere they will admit no one has any inventory and go back to ranting at him. He's started just walking away and ignoring them. Heck of a way to have to run your business and deal with potential customers.

Sounds about right. Maybe detected by some levels of the supply chain a little earlier. Our family members that work in retail mentioned it was happening again about then. Also mentioned the shortage of aluminum for cans that is limiting some canned drink purchases.
