My first choice would be pay a few dollars more for a Springfield TRP.  The Springfield Range Officer is a nice pistol in your price range.  Their customer service and warranty are excellent.  I would also consider a Colt.

I had to wait 1-1/2 hours at the DMV in Oakland.  I had the new permit in my hand within a few weeks.

I noticed on the news last night in memphis that a team had been sent from Nashville to investigate why people were having up to a six hour wait at the DMV office in memphis. During my 1-1/2 hour wait, the cause of the delays was easy to understand.

I wouldn't know if walmart had .22 stacked to the ceiling as I haven't been in the local store since last year.  If they want to allow a few professional buyers take it all, there is no reason for me to go there.  When I'm traveling across the state I may check the stores in every few weeks but I don't waste time going to the local walmart.

I haven't seen any used RI pistols for sale, but their price new isn't bad for a basic dependable gun.

Why?  Because I've seen the work that a bubbasmith can accomplish.

If this is a pistol you use for carry and your life may depend on, I'd take to a gunsmith.

My reloading equipment is in the garage as it has been for over 30 years.  I haven't had any problems with it there other than my wife has the strange idea that a garage is for her car.

As a member of the Gun of the Month Club, I would feel guilty if I didn't make an attempt to purchase a gun or shooting related items each month.

Don't worry, it's only temporary.  A few trips to the gun stores and you'll find another gun you 'need'.

A missed shot with 9mm equals a missed shot with a 45apc.  Practice is a larger factor than caliber for the average person.

The "right" amount of ammo is about 20-25% more than I have.

In the Memphis area, we can use the Commercial Appeal. Nashville and other cities will likely have a liberal source of paper as well.

 In a power outage the cell towers would likely lose power.
