Last battle rifle

Check your birth certificate.  Anyone from America (especially TN) has a place in their heart for the M1/M14 rifles. :usa:   No plastic can ever equal a beautiful wood stock.
2. Hope this goes well for you.  I wouldn't ask for medical or legal opinions on the internet as the cost could be too high.
3. That's almost as bad as telling a 44 year old you're thinking of trading for two 22s.  She wasn't amused.
4. The seller had the option to do a transfer thru an FFL for a small fee.  The risk was too great for you to have done anything else.
5. Nothing about Birmingham is like Nashville.
6. Sorry it didn't work for you, but the right job is out there for you.  I lost out on a job I thought was made for me a few years ago, only to find a better job than I had imagined very shortly afterward.
7. The line at the bottom of the article says it all.  China has disputes with nearly all of its neighbors.
8. In a shtf situation the only ammunition you can be sure to have, is what you have in your possession.  I'd prefer to depend on .357  than 9mm.
9. Congrats on a nice pistol.  None of my Colts has ever been a problem.

1911 question

I've never handled a Para, but have about a dozen 1911s.  None of them require depressing the mag release to load a magazine.

Last battle rifle

I trained and carried an M14 before the M16 and it will always be my prefered battle rifle.  I now have two rifles from Springfield Armory, a loaded model and a Camp Perry 100th year Anniversary model.  This is an excellent rifle and you will enjoy shooting one.
12. In past years I went to every gun show within 2 hours driving time of me.  Now I drive past them to go to local gun dealers.  I haven't been to a gun show in about two years, as the last few I attended were a waste of time.
13. Carry a 442 and a 642.
14. A well made belt is essential to comfortable concealed carry.
15. I haven't seen a Dan Wesson or CZ lately at any of the shops I've visited.  Everything I've heard about DW was favorable.   This reminds of Sportsmans Warehouse trying to sell me a Kimber when I was looking for a Colt.  They lost several sales and I found several shops to purchase the guns I chose.
16. I've seen .22 at a few places during the last week but I'm not paying  .16/round.
17. A lazy bluetick hound.
18. If it's likely that I will need a weapon in a particular place, it's likely that I don't need to be there.
19. I'd guess most of this group will not renew their permits.
20. I was in on this knife before this week, but after not finding any ammo at prices I will pay, I'm more comfortable with my decision.
21. XDS in a crossbreed holster.
22. Congrats on nice pistol and welcome to the addiction! This 1911 will not be your last.
23. A gun sitting in a safe doesn't drop in value. A car sitting in the driveway depreciates every year.
