  1. I rarely see anyone open carry other than at a range or gun shop.  I don't think the majority of the public notices a holstered pistol.
  2. I got a Henry several months ago and it's been fun to shoot.  The only thing preventing it getting more range time is the availability of .22 ammo.
  3. The site has been very helpful to me as I travel across several state lines.
  4. .... just the simple fact that they didn't include any Smith and Wesson j-frame revolvers pretty much makes me wonder if they really have any idea what they are talking about.   I have to question their choices.  Not many of these that I would choose.
  5. ....I am a huge fan of snubbies but the ever so popular Airweights are terrible to shoot. A 20oz 60/649/640 in 38spl weighs only a deglible amount more but is a dream to shoot....   The low weight of the 442 is great for carry but not fun to shoot a +P round.
  6. The tough leather is good for retaining its shape allowing easy reholstering of my pistol.  However the stiffness of the belt loops causes the holster to not conceal well under clothing
  7. Hopefully I'll find a roll or case for knives at the gun show today.  I didn't realize how many knives I've acquired over the years.
  8. I'll be making this change on mine soon!
  9. What length barrel did you use?  I haven't used any shotshell in my .44 but have thought I'd get a few rounds.
  10. I also don't care for the high trigger pull.
  11. The Halls Air Show on August 16-17 will have aircraft rides available as well a chance to see some vintage airplanes on the ground and in the air.  731-836-7400
  12. I had to vote to keep the judges.  If they are replaced, the replacements will be picked by the current leadership in Nashville.
  13. I'm thinking of using some regular .38 rounds for practice.  This pistol still has a use to me, just not as as a primary carry.  I'd rather shoot my .44 mag than this pistol with a +P.
  14. I can't speak about the Ruger LC9 but I've got a 442 as well as a LCP.  I shot several boxes of +P in the 442 and wasn't satified with the results.  It can do what I need at close range but isn't a gun that I care to shoot often.  I'd prefer to shoot my EMP 40, XD40sc, G27, P938 or LCP.  I picked a 442 for it's light weight and small size, but the +P round and short sight radius prevent it being carried more often.
  15. He reminds me of the dalmation I had several years ago.  He preferred a whipping to being ignored.
  16. Glad to hear your pistol is back and working properly.  My LCP has been a great pistol and gets carried at times I would otherwise be unarmed.
  17. Why doesn't the  AMA give the number of injuries and deaths due to cell phone use while driving?  I'd guess the number of people injured while having cell phones stolen would be high as well.  The AMA is able to bury their mistakes.
  18. Several years ago I purchased an elephant holster from Wilson Combat for my 1911.  It's a beautiful, well made holster. However elephant, wasn't the best choice for concealed carry.  I've acquired a box of hosters before finding those I use daily.
  19. I understand your anger with the background check system.  I've had it happen several times over a period of years.  The last time was during a trip out of  state where I purchased a Henry rifle.  As I was given a military discount, I was asked for drivers license, military ID and HCP. I was told there was a hold on the purchase for three days.  Later in the day after I had driven a few hundred miles, I received a call from the gun shop to inform me the hold had been removed.  As in your case, no explanation was given.
  20. .... Anything else I should look for?   Dry powder.
  21. No excuse is better than any excuse!  Go to the range and just bring the new one in with the others.
  22. It's getting rough out there for the gouging #&@*!
  23. It's not healthy for our Country for the police or citizens to have a "Us and Them" mindset.  A small percentage of government, law enforcement and citizens seem to be unable to understand Constitutional and Citizenship Rights and responsibilities.  When we become enemies of each other, we're going to face serious consequences.
  24. I won't make that mistake again.  Another mistake that will not happen again is to underestimate the sharpness of a ProTech knife.  It was just a scratch but could have been much worse.
