  1. The best solution is to not cross the Illinois state line.
  2. Several years ago several of these non resident permits allowed carry in states that a TN permit did not.  Now a TN permit allows carry in more states (39) due to changes in reciprocity between the states.
  3. Was he offered a breathalyzer test?   If he was and refused or he failed the test, the Judge had an easy ruling for the case.  If the evidence was there to convict, why was it reduced to a lesser charge?  If the officer suspected him of DUI and offered proper testing, the officer did nothing wrong. A burned out headlight alone, doesn't equal a reckless driving conviction, but that's a Judge's duty to decide if the evidence is there for a conviction.  If the case was plead to a lessor charge, he had legal defense to advise  and represent him.  Acting like a fool by carrying a shotgun in town isn't going to help his case with the FAA.
  4. As reciprocity between the states has changed during the last few years, I'll probably drop some of my non-resident permits.   NH is recognized in 24 states but not NC, MS, AL, GA, LA   VA is recognized in 28 states but not FL, GA, SC   AZ is recognized in 30 states, but not FL, SC   TX us recognized in 31 atates but not SC, FL   FL is recognized in 31 states, but not TN, SC     A resident TN permit is recognized in 39 states, including the states not recognized on the above non resident permits.
  5. I wish the date was a week later.  I had to be in Nashville this week, but plan to visit Lonesome Pine Knives on the next trip.
  6. My MT extends with out any problem but is difficult to retract.  I'm sure this will improve with use.
  7. Welcome!
  8. Depending on clothing, the XDS or 442 are often my choices for pocket carry.  If no better option is available, my LCP gets the job.
  9. Best wishes in finding the right employer. I spent 7 years in Texas before moving back to Tennessee.  While the memphis area isn't the best the state has to offer, I hope to stay in TN.
  10. After weeks of listening to the local sports radio, it was good to finally see the team on the field.  I'm looking forward to some good games this year.
  11. I have two Beretta M9 pistols now.  As soon as TN is stamped on the side I've have another.
  12. This would be a great gift and probably the start of an addiction!
  13. If you don't know the secret handshake, you can wear a HCP badge.
  14. .......If I controlled the civil trial jury, I'd probably find in his favor and award him $1.   His actions were carefully planned to obtain the publicity he has received.  That and one cent should be his settlement.
  15. Before receiving the knife I was worried this could be a concern.  After getting the knife in my hand I realize an accidental opening could never happen.  I'm very pleased with the design of the Microtech.
  16. .......But get me in Atlanta, where they can't drive and i'll wish i stayed home.   Stupid drivers in Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville are about the same as stupid drivers in Atlanta!  I deal with them every week, some are stupid without the help of their cell phones.
  17. This is my first OTF knife and I'm impressed with the microtech. This knife will in my pocket daily. My concern with an accidental opening was unfounded.
  18. Congrats on a nice looking knife! How do you like it? Mine arrived today but I'm in nashville and it will be tomorrow evening before I get it in my hands.
  19. Don't go on a Monday.  I drove about 30  miles out of the way to eat there yesterday.  I was told they were not open to the public as they were reserved for a group later that evening. :ugh:   I ate lunch there on my way out of Knoxville on that trip and have been back several times since.  It's worth a drive a few miles out of the way to eat there.
  20. I have the ProTech Godson and look forward to getting this knife.
  21. Another gun can wait,  I've got an Ultatech 122-10 on the way.  :woohoo:
  22. I was looking at one this morning before taking my hound dog to the vet.  After getting the $300 vet bill, the Ultatech will have to wait.
  23. I haven't yet handled a Benchmade automatic but their assisted opening knives are very well made.  I have two Pro Tech automatic knives and I'm very pleased with them.
  24. I'm more concerned with stress on my body.  I usually try to not drive over 10-12 hours.
