  1. My hound doesn't seem to mind being a target for dry fire drills, if he gets a reward and the gun is empty.
  2. The curriculum doesn't look different than the training I had in the military, unless this goes well beyond the level of training we received before assignment to combat areas.  I'd expect this would be more up to date  and a good refresher on treatment techniques.
  3. Glad to hear you got an approval on your HCP application quickly.  The process on initial applications and renewals is much better than in the past.
  4. ....... have you ever experienced talking survival preparation with others, and did they have that wide eye deer in the headlight look and then did you realize they think you are weird or a nut?  As many of those I work with are former military or involved in emergency services, survival preperation is a serious subject when we discuss it at work.
  5. Don't get discouraged with the weight loss numbers afer a short time.  As my doctor said, you didn't gain it overnight, you won't lose it overnight.
  6. Those stats don't mean much when your truck is gone!
  7. ... So what is the difference between a $1000ish dollar 1911 and a $3000 1911?..... I just can't see what I would get for 3X the price that I don't already have.   The difference is about $2000.  Some want the difference in the guns, others don't.  Same as with knives, watches or cars.
  8. Were you at the Wolfchase Galleria Mall yesterday?
  9. The last time I asked if they had any 22LR at Bass Pro I was told no.  While purchasing a rifle a few minutes later, I asked a different salesperson when they would have any 22 and was asked how much I wanted. They seemed to have plenty in the back when they choose to sell it.
  10. I travel from west to east TN every week and seldom see anyone open carry other than the employees of a gun shop or range.
  11. I've heard good and bad opinions of Kimber, Colt, Springfield and other 1911 pistols.  My Rock Island doesn't have the quality of finish as that of my Wilson Combat or SA PRO, but it has been accurate and never failed to fire.
  12. They need to add "THIS END TOWARD TARGET" on the barrel.
  13. Only a few hours to game time!
  14. You should be warned - The 1911 is highly addictive!  After shooting it, you will always see another 1911 that you must have.  You will need a larger safe and reloading equipment in the future.
  15. Last I heard, Agore used more electricity per month than the average TN home used in a year.
  16. As a disposable tool, these have a use.  I usually carry a work knife and a quality knife.  Each has its purpose. Several weeks ago I thought I had lost a ProTech knife and drove back to be certain it hadn't been left in a hotel  room.  If it had been a cheap knife from china I wouldn't have spent the time to look for it.
  17. I haven't thought much about determining a sellinfg price for my guns as they aren't usually for sale.  Several years ago I sold one to a relative at a fraction of its value.  At the time I needed the cash and he needed a good quality pistol.
  18. Will it pass thru a metal detector?
  19. Got .22 stached away, but I'd like to shoot more often and obtain replacements.
  20. deactivated
  21. I'm not looking to buy dog doo, only trying not to step in it
  22. flagged
  23. flagged!
  24. The SA Range Officer would be a better choice.
  25. When I pocket carry my sig 938, I use a Galco holster.
