  1. I know my reflexes aren't anywhere near what they were 20-30 years ago.  I depend on the experience gained during those years to keep me from the need to be as fast as I once was.

    Baby Rock Island

I'd like to see Rock island make a small 9mm pistol.  Their full size 9mm has been a very good pistol for the price.
  3. There are many representatives in Nashville that wish the TFA were not as effective as they have been during the last few years.
  4. Some call it obsession, others call it opportunity.
  5. Since they became legal, I've averaged one a month.
  6. I'm waiting to see this new knife.  Protech has a habit of reducing my gun funding.
  7. I started using Unique many years ago.  The only time I've used a different powder was when Unique wasn't available.
  8. Welcome!  TN is a great place to visit or live.
  9. I'd get the Lightweight Commander ordered immediately!  I wish my wife would carry a 1911, but she's happy with an XD40sc.
  10. which one - sports or politics?  Both have become an obsession to some.
  11. I did all my training with the M14 and didn't see an M16 until I got orders for SE Asia.
  12. I haven't seen the Mod.2 yet, but have the XDs in 9 and 45.  Both use the same holster and they fit my hand well.
  13. I renewed at a driver license station and had mine in two weeks.
  14. Congrats on a nice looking pistol.  Let us know how it does at the range.
  15. While on a dive trip in the Bahamas, the version I saw on the ceiling of a resturant said, "If it's got wings, tits or wheels, It's gonna give you trouble."
  16. None of my 1911 have a rail.  Most of my other pistols have a rail.  I don't use it.
  17. I got 15/15.  I be educated in memphis city schools.

    1911 low down

The Ruger CMD has a 4-1/4" barrel and is available for about $700.  The differences in barrel length of the commander and full length 1911 are not small for practical purposes.  I prefer to carry the shorter barrel but a good belt and holster are necessary with either model.

    1911 low down

I was a revolver guy, but went to a range in Texas and got bit by the 1911 bug.

    1911 low down

The TRP is an excellent pistol.  Ruger is made in AZ and Wilson Combat is made in AR.  Any of these will provide a good 1911.
  21. I've had my RIA 9mm Tactical for over a year and have been pleased with it.  It performs as well as a much more expense pistol.
  22. My pile was .38+P, 45acp, 9mm, 44 mag, 7.62, and 5.56. I'm hoping .22 will be added after my wife returns from TX.
  23. A few range trips showed me I needed alot of practice if I wanted to depend on my 442 to defend myself.   A 629-5 or 1911 would be my first choices but aren't going to happen.  I often carry a G27 or EMP 40 but at a minimum a P938 with extra magazines.
