  1. I don't see the need to over complicate a shotgun for home defense.  If my dogs or other alerts show it necessary to defend myself at night, anything coming down the hallway to my bedroom will be full of buckshot.  No need for any of the extra BS.
  2. I haven't owned a SOG or Kershaw knife but I have several Protech knives. Before the auto knives became legal in TN I carried a Gerber or Benchmade knife. All of the brands I've owned had good quality and materials, however the Protechs have been excellent. I have one auto from Microtech but it's difficult to operate.
  3. I got my first 1911 many years ago. It was a Colt. It's a nice pistol but if I were getting my first 1911 now there are many good choices available - Colt, SA, Ruger, Kimber, RI
  4. When I was young I had plastic guns, now they are made with steel.
  5. Congrats on a nice looking pistol. Let us know how it shoots.
  6. I got my P938 as a concealed carry pistol. When I plan to spend the day at the range there are much better options. I don't usually fire more than 100 rounds with it at the range. I'm in my mid sixties and have several screws and a plate in my arm. I'd prefer to shoot the 938 rather than my LCP.
  7. Thanks Willis for including TGO on this knife.  As it's larger than I envisioned it, the case will be very useful.
  8. Do you also carry 10-12 spare mags in a shoot me first vest?
  9. I've heard several times that it's not smart to mess with an old man. When they're too old to fight and too slow to run, their only option is to kill you.

    Glock 34

An acceptable number is current inventory +1 during the first six months of the year or +2 during the last six months of the year. If your are over age 45, the acceptable number is equal to your age.
  11. I'm looking forward to the day I can take my grandson to the range and teach him to shoot.  I hope he will learn to appreciate and enjoy the Henry 22 as much as I have.
  12. My plan for this knife was EDC however with the small number built it may see easier use.
  13. The photos of the knife make me more anxious as I "patiently" wait on the post office.
  14. I'd choose an American made knife with 154CM steel over a Czech Republic knife with 420 steel if the knife will be carried daily.
  15. A 1911 from Colt, Rock Island, Springfield Armory or Ruger will be a dependable accurate pistol from companies that have good customer service.  If possible try to shoot or atleast handle several models befor making a decision.
  16. I was in Nashville several days last week but didn't get to the NRA event due to traffic and work.  The large number of people attending the event should send a message to the antigun liberals in Nashville and around the Country.
  17. I first had a 1911 in my hand in 1970 and have since carried it as it was designed.  Using the rules for proper handling, it has never been a problem.  I got my first XD45 in 2008 and using the proper handling rules, it has never been a problem.  If proper handling techniques are learned and practiced regularly, accidents will not happen.
  18. Outpost Armory is at exit 89.
  19. My first lever rifle was a Henry .22. A few months later I got a .44 mag. These rifles are fun to shoot.
  20. Congrats on a fine rifle!  I've got to start visiting the CMP store more often.
