The first handgun I ever fired was a 1911. After shooting .357 revolvers for several years I got a 1911. The majority of pistols in my safe are now .45 ACP. Safety rules are always the same for all guns. Try several different pistols and you'll find the one that you prefer. -

The LCP and P238 have been the only 380 pistols I've trusted to carry.

The Remington R1 is a good pistol for the price. You may want to also consider Ruger and Springfield Armory. There are many options in the 1911. Comander or fullsize would be better than a compact for your first 1911.

I have a G27 and like it but I haven't had the desire to have another glock. However I seem to find a 1911 or knife that I need every month.

After working at several nuclear facilities as an employee and contractor, I think the answer is NO. A firearm will not be allowed anywhere on their property. -
What press should I buy for my brother in law?

My first press was a RCBS Rock Chucker in 1978. I'm still using it now. -
I seldom carry a revolver as a primary weapon due to reloading issues.

I'd be more concerned with those who abuse booze and meth being in my home than someone carrying his weapon.

Nice shop! They had a very good selection of .22 ammo at reasonable prices. Yesterday I stopped to get ammo and left with a DW Guardian.

Anyone who gets a chance to hold a TR4 in their hand will want one in their pocket. My TR4 Punisher goes everywhere I go unless I'm flying.

I've had several SA XD pistols in 9mm, 40 and 45 during the last few years. Each has been dependable and accurate.

After the first week with windows 10 I haven't had any problem, but can't see that it is any improvement.

When I pocket carry I use a Galco holster.

The Rock Island is easy to find parts for to repair or modify. The costs of ammo may encourage him to learn to reload for it. My first reloading bench was only a few weeks after my first 1911.
