    Wish I could have been there, but needed to finish the ham radio class I was taking. Several of the students in it are interested in taking a HCL class.

    The DMV in Memphis has been an all day trip, but the last time I was there was only about 30 minutes.

    In the past I've bought a few guns and reloading supplies at the Agricenter gun shows, but during the last year most vendors started using the political panic to increase their profit margins. I'll probably go to look for a few small items.

    Hopefully you'll have your permit in a few weeks!

    The HCP classes have to spend most of their time on the legal part of getting a permit. Additional classes and a lot of time practicing are good investments.

    The last few gun shows haven't been as good as in the past. Prices were high on reloading supplies.

    Ron Ramsey is only candidate in this race who has a carry permit. He has shown during the last few years that he strong on 2nd Ammendment issues. Haslam was one of Bloombergs supporters untill recently. He finally joined the NRA in a desperate attempt to gain votes.

    Just looked in the safes- I've completed the twelve step program. I should celebrate this landmark by buying another pistol!

    This was a fight over a parking spot! Alcohol, egos, vehicle vandelism aren't a good mix with weapons. It looks like the parking problem will be solved for the victim and the defendent.

    There does seem to be a different attitude at the Department of Safety concerning handgun permits during the last ten years. Other government agencies would do well to make similar changes.

    Three weeks seems to be the average lately. If you haven't received it in 5-6 weeks, I'd call. I waited 3 months before I called. I received it 5 days afer I called.

    My carry is divided between a Kimber Ultra CDP II, a Colt Commander and a SA TRP. A good belt and holster are important in choosing a 1911 for carry.

    Or you could get a 1911 to begin with!

    I would give Springfield Armory a call. They should be able to correct the 'gunsmith' work if it's possible to be done.

    Most of the instructors I've endured had never been out of a classroom in their life and were liberal.

    I've seen some excellent quality and workmanship in 1911s. The tupperware guns are dependable but don't have the feel of a well made firearm.

    Most classes on the Constitution are likely to include several of the Amendments in addition to the First.
