  1. I have a Colt Combat Elite that i bought in the 90s. Shot it a few times a year until a few years ago. Now there are two safes filled with guns and ammo and I try to shoot several times a month. I added a second reloader about a year and half ago for those weekends i can't get to the range. ten years ago I'd never thought I would become a gun nut.
  2. :pYou'll probably be 21 before the law changes.
  3. Several years ago I had to think which gun to buy. Now the safe is full and I still have to think which gun I want to carry. And I'm still looking at which gun to buy next!
  4. I got a DPMS at a good price about a year ago. I haven't looked at prices recently but I'd hope to find one around $600.
  5. I frequently carry a G27 as I like it's size and enjoy shooting it. I also have an XD40sc that I carried until my wife liked it. The small 45 acp pistols have been considered to have problems, but I've found the Kimber Ulta CDP II to be 100% reliable and very accurate. Which ever you choose, practice with it often and it will do a good job should it be necessary.
  6. Congrats on the permit!

    1911s

The CQB and SA PRO are both nice pistols, but I'd prefer to carry a TRP or Colt Commander
  8. They may not be as addictive as the 1911, but caution is necessary to prevent having a safe filled with them.
  9. I didn't ever hear if they found the fool, but it seems like they did. I'd hate to face the judge with the charges he'd have.
  10. My wife spends less than I would, so I let her handle most of it. However being out of work, I'd probably spend less than her this year.
  11. As long as its not used improperly, I can't see why the police would realize its there. Several months ago I heard an idiot had been pointing one at aircraft as they approached the airport.
  12. Ater several high capacity mags, I bought about a half dozen ruger 10 round mags. They're less problem than the high capacity, in my rifle.
  13. I've had my G27 for about a yr and prefer to keep it stock. It'll do its job if I do mine.
  14. You'll never hear of Santa getting robbed, even in Memphis!
  15. Too many gunowners let the size of a pistol become the determining factor in choosing a gun. The first pistol my wife had was an AMT 380. Small but not reliable and she couldn't hit anything with it. She has since been carrying a kahr 40 or XD40sc. Larger and heavier but she can shoot them much better.
  16. If the manufacturer has designed and built a pistol using parts proven to be reliable and provides good service, the use of MIM parts shouldn't be a problem. If I believe a manufacturer is using junk parts, I'll buy from another, rather than spend time and money hoping to build the quality into firearm that should have been done by the manufacturer.
  17. Locked and cocked. If I've got time to load, then I probably don't need to.
  18. I was looking in the gun safe to see which pistol would get some exercise today, then started reading this.
  19. Congrats!

    1911? :)

my safe has glocks as well as 1911s in it. But the tupperware goes on a different shelf than the 1911s.
  21. Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading and Speer Reloading Manual have been a part of my reloading bench for several years.

    380

I've heard good comments about the Ruger but haven't fired one yet. The size & price make it worth looking at as a back up or those times when it's difficult to conceal larger pistols.
  23. I prefer to have the trigger covered.
  24. I carry a G27 in a Don Hume IWB holster. It was inexpensive and works well.
