  1. Congrats! still, pictures or it didn't happen:D
  2. The odds of winning the lottery are better than legal carry in NYC.
  3. The states not covered with a TN permit, may become an issue if I become a resident of another state.
  4. I've had several Vizio tv's from Sam's for a few years and they've worked fine.
  5. I didn't have a pencil available.
  6. I'd like to see many more signs like that!
  7. I obtained PA and FL non-resident permits last year, but my TN permit now covers most of the states I plan to enter. I'll add VA and TX this year. The states that remain uncovered, won't see me cross their boundaries. You can't have too many guns, hound dogs or carry permits!
  8. I've always carried cocked and locked. The 1911 was designed to be carried this way.
  9. I often keep a G27 or 442 in the console, as seatbelts often obstruct my primary carry.
  10. The last gun shows I attended at the Agricenter have been a disappointment, so I haven't gone to the last few. I'll probably go to the next one.
  11. Congrats on the General! I passed the Tech last summer, General a few months ago, and ordered the manual for Extra a few days ago.
  12. Many pistols take a few hundred rounds fired thru them before they become 100% reliable. I fired a few hundred FMJ before using any HP ammunition. If the problem continues, call Springfield Armory and they'll send a shipping label for repair.
  13. The lifetime warranty and customer service of Springfield Armory would make the Range Officer an excellent choice. I've got 1911s from SA, Colt, Kimber and Wilson Combat, and each of them has performed very well.
  14. Now that I've got this diagram and a dremel tool, I are be a gunsmith.
  15. During the times I'm in uniform as a TN State Guard member, I've had many thank me for my service. That's in contrast to the attitudes expressed toward us during the Vietnam era.
  16. Nice reloading bench! Mine once looked similar to that.
  17. Hairy who?

    1911 mags

I've used the magazines from Springfield Armory, Colt, Kimber and Wilson Combat without any problems. When new I load them to capacity for a day or two before using them the first time.
  19. Welcome to TGO. Paste the IMG link from photobucket directly into the posting box.
  20. A person needs to practice and become very familiar with what they plan to carry. As many will not practice after getting a permit, they should qualify with something similar to their carry choice.
  21. EMP 40 after initial trip to range.
  22. I will not have this problem, as I will not fly on Delta. Their decision to charge excess baggage fees to combat veterans returning home, has cost them them any future business from me.
  23. I also, had this happen several years ago. He should act immediately to get it cleared up. Mine was cleared within 48 hours of my call to Nashville. Since then, I've bought about 20 guns with no further problems.
