  1. Many years ago I applied for an apprenticeship in the IBEW, but was told I was too old. I'm alot older now, and have no use for the IBEW or other unions.
  2. If I decide to make any modifications on any of my 1911s, the first will be the removal of the ambidextrous safety.
  3. next to the Hoppe's No. 9 solvent
  4. I've found pistols with the features I wanted or ordered them, but the only change after purchase I've made to them is the grips.
  5. I like my G27 and it gets carried often. I haven't tried shotshells in it however.
  6. That outfit was a distraction. The video should be redone without it.
  7. After using a few cheap belts, I've learned that a quality belt is necessary for comfortable pistol carry.
  8. I've never used my M9 as a carry pistol, but it's a nice range gun.
  9. While the intruder is being entertained by several coonhounds and a dalmation, I'll be depressing the thumb safety on a 1911.
  10. I prefer to do as much of the maintenance on my vehicles as I can. The last time I went to a dealer, the service writer said I shouldn't use synthetic oil. I'll never return to that dealer or service department for parts, service or sales.
  11. I'm an amateur at sharpening knives, but 20 degrees seems to give the best results.
  12. I can see that they could be useful, but I've managed over 60 years without one, and don't plan to change for the next few years.
  13. I'm not a letterman hater, but when his program comes on the tv, I hit the flush button on my remote.
  14. It's possible, if one makes a real effort.

Nice pistol! I'm sure I'll find one before the year is over.
  16. A hit with a 22 does more than miss with a 45.
  17. My concern would be having a pistol I couldn't depend on! I'm sure most instructors point out that completing the class is only the beginning of learning to carry responsibily.
  18. My safe is one component of protecting my guns. My dogs and an alarm are just as important.
  19. Kroil has worked very well, the times I've used it
  20. There are better safes available, but a Centurion is doing the task I needed.
