  1. I wish I could limit to to one. First it was a TRP, then a SA Professional, then Wilson CQB, and last an SA EMP. The 1911 addiction says there will always another one I must have.
  2. Several of the presidents have shown that the "smartest one" doesn't win the elections.
  3. Years ago, I was told to never trust a reporter. It has proven to be good advice.
  4. Why would I donate money to Illinois? The citizens there elect those that make the laws. I avoid places that let me know I and my money aren't welcome.
  5. I'll send letters to the mall and store managements, making them aware of the lost business this incident cost them.
  6. I'm glad I purchased several of my pistols in prior years. At todays prices, I wouldn't be able to do it again. My wife probably doesn't agree that my safe full of guns is a good investment.
  7. I'm hoping UT improves before my "UT Volunteer" tires on my saturn wear out. I've been trying to keep the miles on them low. I managed a dive trip to Florida without getting them damaged.
  8. Gongrats on a nice pistol.
  9. Walmart and Bass Pro usually have what I need at reasonable prices.
  10. Nice looking pistol!
  11. I remember the meeting that started this thread. It seems the issues being discussed at that time, are still being discussed today.
  12. Congrats on a nice pistol. Enjoy the class.
  13. The violent assault weapons in my safe have survived another Friday night in Memphis with no fights, shootings or public intoxication. The Commie Appeal newspaper in Memphis will probably not report this however.
  14. The service from DOS appears to have improved this year.
  15. Last year after a similar incident on I-40, I used my finger to call THP and report the incident. Several miles later, I smiled and waved as he explained his behavior to the nice officers.
  16. I have never thought of the 1911 as an "advanced" carry weapon, in part due to military weapon training. As many have said, practice is extremely important with any weapon. While I have striker fired pistols and like them, the 1911 has always been my favorite weapon.

    Glock Question

My G27 with the extension on the magazine has been one of my favorite choices for concealed carry. I've been pleased with the accuracy it provides.
  18. I've been shooting a ruger 10/22 since around 1977-8 and it's been a dependable, easy to maintain rifle. I used the aftermarket 20-30 rounds mags but had problems with them and started using the 10 round ruger mags. I've been looking at a Henry rifle for my next .22 rifle.
  19. While I'm sure Rep. Todd regrets his behavior, my concern is how this mistake will affect future laws in TN and other states. Atleast he wasn't charged with carrying a weapon, while under the influence, in a bar. One ruins the punch!
  20. When I purchased a Beretta several years ago, I wasn't sure if I would like it. It only took a few magazines for me to appreciate how well designed a pistol it is. While I'm still a 1911 addict, both of my M9 pistols are fun and inexpensive for a day at the range.

    The next gun...

I'd prefer to rent or borrow different models before making a decision to purchase. For years I reloaded and shot one caliber but now have 4 different calibers and use two primarily. I still only reload one, 45 acp. As my supply of used brass increases I'll begin reloading other calibers as well.
  22. I'd give them a call if it doesn't arrive soon. I waited 3 months before I called and it was approved and mailed the day I called.
  23. I'd guess some of our Memphis thugs could match his record. It might be time to replace some of the judges in the legal system.
  24. I've had a belt from Tucker Gunleather for several years and it's allowed comfortable carry with any gun I own.
  25. www.esmeralda.cc has a nice selection of smooth wood grips.
