  1. They also post signs that require cell phones to be turned off at polling places in shelby county. There is no valid reason to require this.
  2. Congrats on a well made gun!
  3. A receipt from DMV and a pistol will get you a free meal in jail. Untill the permit is in your hand, it is illegal to carry in TN.
  4. Our representatives in Nashville missed out on this one.
  5. The best thing about shopping in the hood is you can try it out at the time of purchase
  6. I got my first .40 in 1996 and didn't shoot it much back then as I preferred a 1911 in .45 acp. During the last two years I've purchased three more .40 pistols and started to carry one of them more often than a .45. I've been saving brass from factory loads during this time, so guess I need to start reloading it as well as .45.
  7. Their mailing list was hurting my bank account.
  8. Welcome to TGO and thanks for your service. After a few more posts it will change.
  9. Online seems to be the best option if the sporting goods stores don't have what you're looking for.
  10. Some of my reloading bench time is offset by the time and gas spent trying to find ammo during times it is scarce.I made several trips to find the store shelf empty
  11. Every 1-1/2 - 2 years I buy a new printer with better features for that reason. I replace them before a print head or other part wears out.
  12. Before someone attempts to lead this country or the rest of the world, they need a compass.
  13. Living near memphis, I get an "uneasy feeling" every time I use an ATM.
  14. Untill the law is clearly written to allow open carry, it's much easier to avoid the problem and expense of becoming the test case.
  15. I sent a letter to the editor and the journalist who provided the list to the newspaper expressing my opinion of publishing the database. Grant Smith 1845 York Memphis, TN 38104
  16. I have purchased several nice 1911 pistols in the last few years. I had thought that when I purchased a SA PRO or Wilson Combat then I would have all the 1911s I'd ever want. Those two fine pistols didn't cure the addiction, as yet another has been added to the group.
  17. I bought my K40 in 1996 and it has never given me any problem.
  18. You need atleast one 1911. Then your wife will understand the difference in gun fever and addiction.
  19. www.handgunlaw.us & www.uscarry.com should have the information on the current laws of MS. Section 45-9-101 allows for concealed carry. The only time I open carry in MS is at a rifle range.
  20. The best option is to keep the G27 and get a 1911 when you can afford the model you prefer. I am more comfortable in my abilities with a 1911, as I've carried one for quite a few years. During the last summer I carried my G27 more often than I had in the past.
  21. As I have an addiction to the 1911, I've been looking for Colt's Government Model .22. It's manufactured by Carl Walther in Germany and imported by Umarex USA. American Rifeman has an article on it in their March 2012 edition.
  22. Welcome to Tennessee! While our firearms laws still need inprovement, it's better than most states. There are usually several gun shops, indoor and outdoor ranges within driving distance.
