I've had a 10/22 for over 25 years and it's functioning well. I replaced the factory sights with Tech Sights and got a extra Ruger 10 round magazines for it. if I do anything else, I'll replace the trigger group. The stock is easy to glass bed or you can find a large variety of replacement stocks.

After looking at several small pocket pistols, I ended up with a S&W 442. In a pocket holster, it fits well in a pair of jeans. The current .380 pistols seem to be more reliable than the one I had, but I've never had a revolver fail to fire.

It looks like it's time for me to start reloading .40 and 9. I've been keeping the brass for all my guns, but only been reloading the .45 during the past few years.

The Springfield Range Officer for under $1000 or the TRP for a few hundred more would be good choices. SA has an excellent warranty and customer service. Colt would also be a good choice. However you should be warned before getting a 1911 - they are highly addictive. Two weeks after getting my first Colt, I started reloading for it. Now over half my safe is filled with 1911 pistols.

It's been awhile since I've seen a posted gas station. Be aware of your surroundings when stopping at gas stations. Several people I know have had problems, as they weren't alert to the threats. Have a safe trip and thanks for your service.
