  1. I will agree that "your car isn't worth dying for", but who says I'm going to die? I would say the same applies to the would be robber, maybe somebody needs to tell him my car isn't worth him dying for.
  2. I probably spend as much time or more researching the legal aspects of carrying as I do firearm training. I think both are equally important. You have to train yourself how to act in a certain situation, as much so as you do training to use a firearm.
  3. To each their own, but I don't like to swap carry guns too much. Now I know I could be blindfolded and pick up a 1911 and the feel of it would cause muscle memory will take over, same if I picked a Glock up blindfolded. I still worry that it could cause a issue in a tense situation where I had to use my gun. I just feel I'll have a quicker reaction if I always carry at least the same action firearm. Basically, I carry a Glock 17 when size doesn't matter, or a M&P 9mm when I need something smaller, and that is it.
  4. I don't know much about any you just posted except Jody Barrett, he is a personal friend of mine and can be counted on.
  5. I love 1911s, but for everyday carry I much prefer a striker fired with no external safety. There is just less to go wrong when milliseconds matter. Consistent trigger pull and no external safety to deal with.
  6. Do you mean go red? They are already blue.
  7. When I walk into a place of business, I don't stop and scan the storefront for a posting. If I happen to see a sign I'll take note, but I'm not pausing before I go in to look. I know I have walked into a place of business and noticed a posting on the way out that I didn't see on the way in. At the end of the day, don't do anything stupid while you are in there and there is a 99.9% chance nothing will happen, as long as you are concealed. I've talked to several local officers, the Police Chief, and the Sheriff of my town. We are semi-rural and they have all told me that they aren't looking to cause trouble with people carrying past a properly posted place, as long as the property owner doesn't push too hard. If the property owner demands action, they will have to charge you with something, because it is the law. Even then you may not be convicted, or likely reduced down to something much less severe. All that being said, your mileage may vary, and it all depends on the local attitude of law enforcement, the DA, and the Judges. I would say things like this could have drastic different outcomes when you compare my relatively small town with places like Nashville and Memphis.
  8. If they really want to get something passed, they will grease his palm again.
  9. As a side note, apparently juvenile records aren’t “sealed and destroyed” if the TBI can find out about them.
  10. A month or so ago I would tend to agree with you, now I’m not so sure. He helped pass the latest green new deal spending package, and proved he can be bought.
  11. There is no gun registration in TN. You do fill out a background check when you buy a gun from a FFL, but that is just for the background check. You are free to sell or give that gun to anybody, unless you know they are a felon or underage. Now having said all that, they can trace a gun down if it’s used in a crime. That is the only issue you’ll run into with having your name on a background check that is tied to a gun.
  12. I’ve got a bunch of IBC totes that are brand new if anybody needs some.
  13. There are quite a few Sheriffs and Police Chiefs in TN that say that they are against a lot of things the Feds and their law enforcement do. By saying that, most of them mean they will not assist federal law enforcement, but it a whole other level to actually hold them accountable. We need more local law enforcement like this guy.
  14. If this does somehow pass the Senate, I'm pretty sure there will be constitutional issues. Congressman Dan Bishop (R-NC) got Jerry Nadler to admit on record in a hearing that the bill's goal was to restrict guns "in common use". That comment goes directly against prior Supreme Court rulings. The Chairman of the committee was banging the gavel as Jerry was speaking to try to get him to shut up, because he knew the damage Jerry was causing to the bill. Lol
  15. I don't know the exact legal ramifications for carrying past a sign, but I usually either choose not to go or carry anyway. I know I've talked to a local DA and Sheriff and they aren't really looking to prosecute somebody with this. "Off the record" I was told that unless the establishment really pushes it, it will likely be dropped on a local level. This just goes for carrying past a sign, you reach another level when you carry in another prohibited place like a school or court house.
  16. Here is some good bedtime reading. A whole bunch of hogwash. https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1808/text
  17. Wish they would take the force of law away from signs here in TN. I think it is possible to get the law changed, but you'll hear certain people scream bloody murder about it. The media isn't wanting to talk too much about this incident, the outcome doesn't fit their narrative. When they go to yelling gun control because of the active shooter, they contradict themselves if they acknowledge the outcome.
  18. I met a guy one time and got to know him and knew him quite a while before I found out he was ATF. Great guy, but after I found out he was ATF I had to cut ties with him. Just couldn't trust him, because even though he seemed like a great guy, I bet he could turn pretty quick if he smelled something with you. I question the motives of anybody that would even want that job. Now some of you would say that if you aren't doing anything wrong there is nothing to worry about, but I would submit that almost everybody that has ever owned firearms has violated a firearm law at some point.
  19. I hope they do whatever they need to do to keep other States satisfied and maintain reciprocity. My permit doesn’t do a whole lot within the boarders of the State, but it is golden to be able to carry in other States.
  20. Dog is a idiot, I don’t understand why anybody pays attention to what he says.
  21. You’d probably be surprised at what NY officials would deem “disqualifying speech”.
  22. I agree, more lawsuits, but it’s a shame you have to file suit to have your rights. They will have to weasel this new lawsuit all the way to the Supreme Court, the new law will get shot down, and then they will just make another unconstitutional law, and the cycle continues. Meanwhile, the people filing these suits are going broke with legal fees.
  23. Well, NY Governor just signed a bill declaring almost every place a "sensitive area". I told y'all NY wasn't going to abide by the ruling.
  24. So the justices are going to all plié in a car and go to NY to arrest Eric Adams? A Judge can make any ruling he wants to, but if you don’t have anybody to enforce the ruling, it doesn’t mean much. Kind of like when President Jackson told the Supreme Court “You’ve made your ruling, now enforce it”, and they didn’t do a thing. I would like nothing more than to see the NY mayor and others be brought to justice, but I don’t see it happening with the current administration.
