I know for a fact that a AR-15 won't cycle with blanks. I've tried it. You have to use a blank firing attachment (it blocks the end of the barrel) to fire blanks. If you've ever been to a military funeral where they had a 21 gun salute and they fired M16 rifes, you'll notice that they have to maually chamber a round after each shot because the blanks won't cycle the gun. Handguns could be different though. I don't know but I do know I don't plan on carrying blanks in my carry gun.

I would caution people with using something like a machine gun for home defense. Sure, it will get the job done fine but the law looks at justifiable homicide differently when you use something like a machine gun. Now if all he** broke loose and it's every man for himself. Then by all means, use the machine gun.

Doug Jackson is the only dem I've ever voted for. He was one of the good guys. The guy that beat him (can't remember his name) is a fruitcake. His name was something else, he went gay, and then he went back straight and changed his name. I did notice his "F" rating with the NRA but all the public statements he's made he says he's a avid 2nd supporter. I guess we will see but don't get your hopes up.

Even a very badly damaged registered receiver is still going to cost big bucks. You're actually paying for the paperwork and not the reciver (the receiver is basicly just a standard AR with an extra hole drilled in it). Sadly, machineguns have become a rich man's sport. The plus side is that you can always get more out of it than you paid for it if you decide/need to sell it though.
