  1. If I come home and somebody is on my property, they are going to get confronted. I won't shoot them unless I feel threatened but they are going to get confronted.    I'm sorry but I'm not just going to sit there watching them rob me while I wait for the cops to arrive. I'll also admit that I'd be less inclined to confront if I was unarmed, but probably still would with any other weapon I could find (stick, knife, or whatever) if it was available.    Best thing is not come to my property looking to cause mischief. That way you can stay alive and I can stay out of legal trouble.
  2. The Dickson Roxy isn't posted. I Know the owner and I doubt it ever will be but you never know what kind of pressure theater owners my get put on them by their insurance companies and movie companies and whatnot.
  3. I must have missed the sign. Not being at eye level makes it kind of hard to see.   As I said, I went in with my knife but I wouldn't have wanted to be the test case.
  4. To update this thread, I took my kids to see the Monster Jam at the arena last weekend.    While I didn't see any signs saying guns weren't allowed, they were using metal detectors. I did get in with my pocket knife though. The metal detector was going off like crazy when I walked through it but nobody seemed to care.   So the conclusion is one would think they would frown on guns seeing as they had metal detectors but I could have walked right in with mine because nobody was paying attention to the metal detectors.   I'd guess that because it was very crowded they were selectively choosing who they stopped for setting off the detectors. I didn't look like a thug and I had two kids hanging on me so they let me on through.
  5. Well it's one thing to get caught carrying past a sign with the gun secured on your person, it's a whole different deal to leave it lying around where a child can get ahold of it.   I suspect he'd still be in hot water even if the place wasn't posted.
  6. I've actually got a battery powered unregistered full-auto grease gun. It will shoot grease as long as you hold the trigger. I guess I'd really be in trouble if I painted it evil black and sawed off the length of the hose.
  7. After today's EO, it appears that anybody that sells a few guns can get a FFL. From what I've seen from the EO, you don't even have to have a official "business" to be required to have a FFL. That tells me that anybody and everybody can obtain a FFL.   I'll also add that if what I posted above is right, it may be a bad time to get a FFL as a business. If everybody gets a FFL, the actual firearms business is going to take a hit.
  8.  It was pretty hard in the past to get a FFL if you didn't have a storefront. If they are going to require everybody that sales a few guns get a FFL, they are going to have to let everybody that wants one get a FFL.   Go ahead and get your FFL. Then you can buy all the guns you want with no background checks.    The down side is all your transactions will be documented by the feds.
  9. Two states don't have to have a agreement for you to be able to carry there. I don't think we have a formal agreement with AL but they still recognize TN permits. I wouldn't want to see TN not allow VA permits. Two wrongs don't make a right.
  10. The NBA has got enough problems of their own. Look at all the riots that break out after games to show you what a good number of the audience is like.
  11. The sheriff of my county is a personal friend of mine, I need to get him on this. He's not one to put himself in the news though so he may not commit. It's pretty well known in the county that he supports a armed citizenry.    As far as I know, all the sheriffs are elected. Most (if not all) police chiefs are appointed.
  12. My gun usually in a OWB holster covered by a un-tucked shirt. It prints big time in certain situations but most of the time my wife doesn't even notice. Only time I think I've been "read" is a couple of times by cops and I think that's just because they are trained to look for that sort of thing. They didn't say anything but I did notice them looking at the hump in my shirt. I've tried most of the IWB holsters and I can't wear them. It's just too uncomfortable for me. I've bought a pile of them that I can't wear for any extended period of time.
  13. My wife's aunt is rabid anti-gun and pretty much anything else super liberal. She lives in CA (imagine that) and comes to visit every Christmas. We usually go out to eat with her and her husband (he's not as bad as her but she wears the pants in that family). While I don't open carry, I make sure to let out a clue that I'm armed and I make sure I wear my NRA cap. She won't come out and say anything but you can tell it eats her up.   She's actually a pretty nice lady if she keeps her liberal thoughts to herself. She knows this and tends not to bring up politics during her visit.
  14. Me either. I guess that's one of the benefits of being a lifer.
  15. If Bill Goodman doesn't mind coming to Dickson, I've got a 60,000 sq ft warehouse that I would love to put him in. If anybody knows how to contact them, I'd be interested. I've actually thought of doing a gun show myself but don't even know where to get started.
  16. Doesn't surprise me.   During the Democratic debate they all were fighting over each other to see who could be the top NRA hater.
  17.   To see the Queen POS?
  18.   I agree. I don't really want to be the test case.
  19. When I was just a kid, I went on a school trip to DC. Back then (late 1980s) I carried a Buck 110 everywhere and the school didn't even care back then as long as you kept you knives in your pocket.    I got a really good lesson on how strict DC is about weapons. Mind you, this was before there were even metal detectors at the airport so I had never seen one or knew what one was. Low and behold they had a metal detector at the FBI building and I set it off. I threw the 110 out like it was nothing and the agents almost messed their pants. They were at one point discussing what they were going to do with me and kept measuring the blade length. After it was all said and done, they let me tour the building and pick the knife up on my way out and got a stern talking to from my teacher.     I shutter to think of what would have happened to me if that had taken place in recent times. I'm sure I'd have made the national news and be branded a home grown terrorist.
  20. Should have discretely snapped a cell phone pic.
  21. Looks like the thing was a joke and not real.   They aren't drill bits though (try to drill a hole with them and you'll see).   They are driver bits, one phillips, one flat head, and two torx bits.
  22. I'm your huckleberry.   I want to see Curly Bill sitting on the White House steps when Obama leaves and say "well bye".
  23.   Ain't that the truth. I know several conservative thinking people that always have voted the democrat ticket. Mainly union folks that the unions have brainwashed into thinking that the dems will pad their pockets with cash.    I think most of these hard core union folks are finally jumping ship though as the democratic party is going too far to the left. Well, most of them have always been that far to the left, they were just secretive about it. As of late, they just come right out and say.   I know a lot of the union workers at TVA Johnsonville have "seen the light". Mainly because Obama's EPA is shutting down their plant. The Union bosses still scream "the republicans will take your jobs" but a lot of the rank and file union workers are jumping ship.
  24. My house is way off the road and I also collect military vehicles and you can routinely hear me shooting guns. I have come to be known as the crazy gun guy with all the military trucks.   People that know me know that's not who I really am but it's not a bad reputation to have. All my neighbors have had break-ins but they always seem to pass my place up.
  25. I had a conversation with a officer while armed about a month ago.   My neighbor came home with a robbery in progress. The robbers ran toward my place and he called and told me as much right after he called to police. I threw my AR across my back and went out to check on the outbuildings. While I was checking on things, the police showed up at my place to have a look around. I had a conversation with them with the AR on my back. Nobody even mentioned it. Now mind you this is a rural area and it's not uncommon to see people carrying guns at any given time.   Another time some friends and I were doing some shooting at my makeshift range. Somebody called and complained and the police showed up. I saw the cop coming down the driveway and I asked everybody to put their firearms down as to not make the cop nervous with about a dozen people with guns in their hands. The cop saw what we were doing (shooting into a berm) and told us to carry on.
