  1. Let's look at the health care debacle. They haven't been able to get that done, and they owned the friggin' government for a year. The gun thing would be as tough or tougher. The people we have to worry about are the ones that have always been there, and will continue to be there long after Obama is gone.
  2. Not so sure you're right about that one AR. It would burn a lot of political capital for losing results. Even if he is a Muslim Nazi Dictator that wants to enslave the entire country, he's smart enough to see that the mere threat of a ban turned guns into the most recent nationwide fad. If he's not smart enough, I doubt that it would get thru congress. One thing we can count on... politicians are much more concerned with their sorry hides than anything else. Voting for a gun ban is a good way to get kicked off the gravy train.
  3. Yep, and it sold a BUNCH of new rifles!
  4. 1470 is WVOL... where Oprah got her start. Always been a Black station.
  5. A gun ban is always a knee-jerk reaction. Ban thugs.
  6. I had my new Browning safe delivered yesterday, and have some comments on the experience. Even though it usually costs much less than its contents, a gun safe is an expensive purchase. Like many others, I spent a few months kicking it around before I finally decided to take the plunge. Fortunately, a friend of mine turned me on to the Nashville Safe House. Once I was ready to buy, I visited Mark Brasfield at his place on 4th Ave. Mark patiently answered all my questions, and never pressured me to make a decision. Mark stocks a lot of safes, but didn't have the one I wanted. So, we placed an order with Browning. I'm a "want it now' kinda guy, so the wait (a few weeks) was a little painful. Mark notified me as soon as he knew my safe was on the truck. After pondering borrowing a truck, rounding up some burly buddies, and digging up the necessary euipment to move the safe, I decided to let Mark handle the delivery. That service isn't cheap, but now I see why. They have the right tools and skills to do the job. The move was painless. Nothing was scratched or dinged (the safe, my house, or my buddies). In the end, the safe purchase was not cheap, but I'm very happy with the value. Mark is on my short list of great vendors. Larry Potterfield is another.
  7. I paid because TGO deserves my support. Great site
  8. That solves a lot of the mystery.
  9. C.O. Arms is a TGO member. Joined a couple of days ago, and viewed this thread at 8:06AM today. Maybe they'll jump on and answer the question about the Seattle phone number.
  10. And for each one, most of the population will be headed to the lake of fire because they aren't with the "right' bunch.
  11. I know you guys aren't fond if Bill Maher, but I'm stealing one of his quotes... "This woman is a Category 5 Moron".
  12. Gun sales go thru the TBI (state)
  13. Ruger's suggested technique is a valid one. I use it with my CZ sometimes because it can be difficult to get a grip on the slide. Pushing is easier than pulling.
  14. Your home town, and a Seattle phone number? WTF?
  15. Scorpion: $1199 Stinger: $1499
  16. If they serve "just beer" on site, you can't carry.
  17. Things like this happen in seconds. I'll unhoster my weapon as soon as there is any possibility that I may need it, because it shortens response time. That doesn't mean I'll point it until things escalate. I'm just not going to lose the battle with time because I'm snagged on a cover garment.
  18. That's a great idea. Most likely it's just an insurance thing, and they got the rate reduction when they made the policy. Personally, I wouldn't order the search of an employee's vehicle unless I was prepared to lose them. Talk about a morale destroyer.
  19. I understand that the safest thing to do is just comply with company policy. But, how can they know if there is a gun in the car? Do they have the right to search your vehicle?

What he said. Bought a lot from them.
  21. That may be the point that wins the whole debate
  22. I don't see it happening because, the people that ban guns in schools and other places think that guns are dangerous by themselves. I don't know HOW their little brains think that way, but they do. I don't think better trained people carrying an instrument of evil is going to swing them our way. Just my opinion
  23. That might make things easier for thugs, and we have our fair share in a few places in this state. So, maybe an addition to this, we load all our thugs on busses and send them to Vermont.
  24. It was a little to the right, so... maybe
  25. I was lucky. I was the only one in my class. Once my instructor figured out I was a gun guy, we had a blast. Did some fun shooting before the actual qualiying. Went thru close to 100 rounds of 9mm. Scored 100 and 100, but flinched once and shot the target in the kajones.
