  1. That's my question. Why didn't they blow them out of the water? EDIT: Just answered my own question. The mother ship was a confiscated boat.
  2. He was fighting to hold it back
  3. I tend to agree, but if they're spending their $150-200/mo at Whole Foods (we call it Whole Paycheck), they're not eating alot.
  4. I usually leave my hammer in the 1/4 cock (or whatever you call it). That leaves quite a bit of takeup. What little I''ve done with double action, I treat it like a 2 stage trigger. Start the squeeze after the takeup is gone. Mine is gritty too, but it's a pretty new gun. BTW... I love the P01
  5. The trigger is crisp, but heavy. I replaced mine with a Rifle Basix trigger. Light and crisp, but it's not exactly a drop-in. Safety doesn't work reliably anymore, but the trigger feels great. The Savage is probably better, but I haven't made the comparison. My 917 was an impulse buy.
  6. I'm not gonna do so well. I'll owe something. Just waiting to hear how much. If there's enough left over, it's probably AR time!
  7. Agree. It's safe to say that he'll lose Tennessee.
  8. A Picatinny rail is a Weaver rail with uniform notch spacing. So, as long as the location of the notches let you put your rings in the right place, you're good to go.
  9. That would be the plastic tip I'm guessin'
  10. Already gave them my finger prints so I could carry a GUN. It didn't bother me.
  11. No.
  12. Last few sets i bought were Millett adjustable windage type for Weaver rails. You do gain a little something with them, because you can set coarse windage with the rings.
  13. Thanks for guiding me. I'm pretty stupid
  14. Pretty tightly edited stuff. I'm done
  15. I don't like that any more than you do, even though I've always had insurance, and will never go without it. They had to do that to eliminate preexisting conditions.
  16. I HAVE listened to what they say, and have tried not to take anything out of context. I don't listen to Rush, Beck, or any of those types.
  17. So, you think that it's primarily a welfare program? No wonder you're pissed.
  18. Pretty comprehensive page... Varmint Al's Field Testing The 17 HMR
  19. I haven't read much on the terminal ballistics of the .17 HMR rounds, but there are two different bullets out there. The original Hornady plastic tip pretty much disintegrates when it hits. There is also a jacketed hollow point available. I have both, but haven't played with them much. Everbody pretty much agrees that .17 is too small for a yote, even with decent penetration from a JHP.
  20. So we're talking about the City of Detroit, not the entire metro? The city of East St. Louis, IL has been dead for years, and they DO discuss it. Sounds like Detroit may be real similar.
  21. I have a Marlin 917S, and believe it might be the perfect skunk gun
  22. Couple of points... #6: even if they were as successful at recruitment as anywhere else, it wouldn't significantly make up for point #1. #7&8: Welcome to the US. same as everywhere else with significant minority population
  23. How do you replace the money hole made by the car makers? Again, not defending their local government. Of course real estate is going to go in the crapper. I was in Houston from '78 to '81 and met a bunch of Detroit folks. There was a mass exodus, and it was all about the auto industry and lack of jobs.
  24. I did a lot of work in Memphis a couple of years ago. Most of it was moving radio stations. One of my software packages would display population density on a map. Switching between Census '90 and Census 2k showed a dramatic population shift to the east. It was more pronounced in the white demo, but blacks are moving too.
