  1. The first thing it fixes is ring marks on the scope. Lapping won't hurt anything. It's like lapping the front of an AR upper receiver. Haven't found one yet that was flat when I started, and I have done several. Even the CMT uppers needed it.
  2. $2200 rifle...
  3. I have lapped rings and done some good. My most expensive scope was $1k, and is sitting in a Larue mount (that you probably DON'T need to lap). If you lap a set of perfect rings, it will simply dull the finish on the inside of the rings. My bet is that you will find high spots on all of them. If I ever mount something like a Schmidt and Bender, I promise you I will lap the rings.
  4. Illegal things get done all the time when there is no practical way to stop them. This is one of those times. Nobody will challenge it.
  5. I think they should cordon off an area, dump a few truckloads of Antifa in there, and let them beat the living #### out of each other. In fact, they should do it in every town.
  6. Bloomberg! Between him and Corker, it must be short boy week on TGO.
  7. Damn boats
  8. Here's one of our members that is missing an arm, and has done quite a bit of video. Check out his Saiga 12 stuff... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxeAlQe_QtiTuM0IP_7DHkQ
  9. If it wasn't for the tragic boating accident, I would own over 40. I don't know what a resident of NYC would do, except move.
  10. The leveling kit is included in the scope mounting kit above. When I look back, I would have been money ahead buying the whole kit at once. FWIW, I like the Tipton vice the best between it and the Lyman. I have both
  11. I have used my fat wrench a lot. Not just for optics. Pic, keymod, mlock accessories.
  12. Yep. Could have been for plain old shock value. Exploding heads can be entertaining
  13. The libtards are all making fun of Trump for staring into the sun. His retinas obviously melted and ran down his legs. Stupid orange man.
  14. This is probably worth it for those Nightforce scopes. I know you can do the work by just following the instructions that come with it. I own a 1" lapping kit and a Fat Wrench. The instruction sheets are almost worth as much as the tools... https://www.amazon.com/Wheeler-Scope-Mounting-Combo-1-Inch/dp/B002PQKGSI
  15. Same here. I didn't get hurt. I kept checking thru the glasses to make sure nothing was coming through
  16. I'm in Paducah. No clouds were in the way here. During totality, I was able to remove my glasses and have a clear view. It was well worth the time
  17. That was pretty cool. Clear skies here
  18. Nobody gonna out ugly that one
  19. 17 HMR is good to 200 yards or better, is real accurate, and will blow a chunk out of a rat. Several makers at your local gun store
  20. Fat wrench good! Put blue loctite on all threads. I have shot scopes right off the rifle with semi autos. Youtube is probably your friend, especially if you can find a Brownell's or Midway video. Gotta level the reticle to the rifle and set proper eye relief
  21. You probably want to lap the rings on that one. Worth it for real good glass.
  22. I had a nickel model 19 4". Loved it too. But back then, he 36 was about the best concealment gun you could get. So, it won with me. I woudn't carry anything less than a 38. I thought 380's and less were toys.
  23. That's my all time favorite. I have owned 3, and won't ever sell the last one
  24. That looks like my Model 36, but it isn't. Every time I see something like this, I regret selling any of my S&W revolvers when I was young.
  25. That lead sled is the appropriate tool! You're probably not even bruised
