  1. It's on my list too. No good reason, other than it's pretty cool. I have researched it some. From what I've been able to read, Henry is doing as good or better than any of the past manufacturers. I have also read great things about their support.
  2. I use gun oil on my guns. A bottle lasts me a long time, and I like the convenient tip. I normally is a silicone cloth on the outside. Solven costs get me a lot more than the cost of oil, because I use a lot more of it.
  3. I tape mine too, and use a brass hammer.
  4. Next time I see you, I'll show you the roll pin punch for the bolt catch. If you add a slave pin from the other side, it takes away all of the anxiety, once you get the pin started.
  5. I always find some junk in a new gun barrel. Give it a good cleaning and look again. They ususally include a fired case with a new pistol, but that doesn't mean they only fire one when they were testing. For example, my CZ came with one fired case, but also included a computer generated 3 shot group where they tested for accuracy.

  7. It's nice to follow the rules, but some rules are really stupid. Like JayC said, you may run a small risk of being fired (by people that don't care about your safety). I know what I would do in your shoes, but can't really advise you.
  8. It's not just generational. I don't know any liberals that want to just dump it either, no matter when they were born.
  9. My Double Star parts kit had a spare spring and detent. I hung on to that. The utility knife trick is just fine if you're real careful. At least I haven't felt like I need a special tool. I also use small needle nose pliers to hold the detent in place while I push it down with the blade. I'm sure the dedicated tool is easier. Just haven't felt the need.
  10. Try the UTG rails. If you like them, you're way ahead of the game. If you don't, you're only out 50 bucks or so. I didn't hate mine.
  11. I don't even know how I feel about the basic concept of SS, but I know how I feel about the government' mismanagement of it. I'm sitting here looking at my statement. I have some serious money in it, and that's without any adjustment for inflation. I have always viewed SS as forced savings. I'm pretty sure that was the idea when they passed it. As long as I've been observing those idiots in washington, they have been talking about fixing the budget. Nobody LETS them do what they do. Best case, we throw a bunch of them out and get some new idiots. They need to figure this out, and fix it.
  12. I use the utility knife trick. Haven't launched one yet (almost did).
  13. I found a trick when I did the second one. I have a roll pin punch that completely clears the receiver. I still covered it to prevent scratches, but there was no sliding the hammer along the side of the receiver to knock it in.
  14. Let's see what YOU are able to reform at the end of the day. Nobody can reform our government, even the ones that are in it. And no, it's not abut me. It's about an entire generation... one that wouldn't throw their parents out into the streets, BTW.
  15. Don't matter, Lester. They are not going to be allowed to default anyway.
  16. My failure? Leisure?
  17. Good logic Lester, but it's much easier to just dump out of our obligations. The good news for us... using jayC's numbers, it's going to be real hard to vote in a massive SS screwing. If the ratio does climb to 1:1, it would mean that half of the US would have to vote against their own best interests. I suppose they could take away our right to vote too.
  18. That's the way I've always looked at it. I have had some pretty painful payouts because of it. This year will be no exception.
  19. The light spectrum is way different. Looks like they are making them mandatory by making the others unavailable. Our government just really sucks.
  20. I figured they were just blowing off steam.
  21. Here's the only schedule I could find: 100 watt bulbs go away on Jan 1, 2012 75 watt Bulbs go away in 2013 40 and 60 watt bulbs go away in 2014
  22. I like grumpy old guys Mandating light bulb types is over the top. I'll be building me a stash. The size will depend on how long I thing it will take to repeal the law.
  23. You won't be sorry. I have a P22 as well. Ruger always wins in these threads, and it must be well deserved.
  24. That one hurt me, and I'm in good shape with my AR's right now.
  25. You're probably right there, but that falls on the professor, not the DNC. Interesting, though.
