  1. I didn't take it that way, but I'm aware of the product, and was aware that a bunch of his students had been involved in shootings. I'm sure there was no harm intended.
  2. I think most folks know who Tom is. He has plenty of credentials. Can't comment on the vendor thing.
  3. Yep. Kinda like passing more stupid gun laws because the other stupid gun laws don't work.
  4. Stripper clips don't save THAT much time with a striplula. I don't shy away from them, but I don't go after them either. The thing is so fast, and I have such a good stock of PMAGs, I normally hit the range with loaded mags. Note that they make one for the Mini 14 too, so don't get the wrong one (something I would do). I have both, because I own both rifle types.
  5. THIS for AR mags...
  6. I'm thinkin' David does some pretty good work.
  7. If it has as much overtravel as a stock trigger, the Apex stuff will improve the gun. I have played with a pro, but it was before I got a good feel for the M&P
  8. FWIW, mine (gen 4) was measuring about 7 1/2 pounds are my Lyman trigger gauge, and i know it's stock. It's hard to get a reading with the funky trigger angle. I did a polish job, and it really didn't help. I'm going to lighten it some, and will start with a 3.5 lb connector.
  9. On my Glock's first trip to the range, I was next to a guy that had a new G27. I noticed he was really struggling to load his first mag, so I loaded all 3 of his. Get you an Uplula. They're not cheap, but you'll never be sorry you bought it.
  10. Have you tried cryo on a skinny barrel? I cant decide if it's worth persuing, but might give it a shot if I had barrel in hand. 35 bucks... Cryopro Cryogenic Tempering Processing Center
  11. Suit yourself. I guess those SCARs probably make good rabbit guns too.
  12. All 3 of my mags are hard to load. I think that's why they include the cheesey mag loader. I use an Uplula, which makes all mag loading easier.
  13. Don't forget Zombie juice. There's gonna be a lot of that seeping into the ground around my place if they show up.
  14. +1 on the Uplula. I use their Striplula products for my AR's and Mini 14 as well. It's the best stuff out there.
  15. AFIK, there are only 3 things that get messed with. The trigger spring, firing pin (striker) spring, and the connector. All dirt cheap. There are some real good videos out there. All you need is a 3/32 punch to take it all the way down.
  16. The way to avoid Glock butt is by NOT pulling the trigger when it's pointed at your butt. If that is too difficult, you'll probably be better off carrying something less lethal... like a stick.
  17. I dropped by late this afternoon. Very nice looking stuff. It's real light too.
  18. I knew they were billet. I will probably drop in and take a look.
  19. Pretty good post AR. You trying to outdo Leroy? Unfortunately, the NRA has to function in the cesspool. There no telling what kind of back door deals get cut just to pull off what they manage to get done. Even though I agree with you, I just don't know if the NRA could go hard line like that without losing all forward momentum. They do enough to make me want them to continue.
  20. You can buy a lot of bottled water for the price of a well. Not saying you should. Just something to think about, since some scenarios could include ground water contamination. Water utilities went down after Katrina over huge areas. We hauled bottled water in by the truckload. I was 75 miles from the coast too.
  21. I got one too. I'll probably donate.
  22. Yep, expensive. I figure I can only fight it off for so long.
  23. I love M&P's. I have to admit that I'm new to Glocks. I have been pretty deep into both. I have installed all the Apex parts in my M&P, and have done the .25 cent trigger job on my Gen 4 Glock. Can't argue with the reliability of either platform. Couple if significant differences (in my view)... The M&P sear is a machined part. The Glock sear is part of the stamped trigger bar. The trigger itself on the M&P is smooth, and much more comfortable than the scissor design of the Glock trigger. The Glock has a very well defined reset that you can feel. The M&P doesn't without adding the Apex RAM upgrade. With the Apex parts, the reset on the M&P is about as short (maybe slightly shorter) than the Glock. Since I don't remember much about my M&P trigger before the upgrade, it's tough to comment on a stock comparison. I know the Apex parts shortened the reset. I really prefer the modified M&P to the stock Glock, but it has a little over 100 bucks worth of aftermarket parts. EDIT: With S&W giving Glock some serious competition these days, I expect both to get better. That's good for us.
  24. The NRA can just move to abolish the ATF. It shouldn't even be part of their stated goals until it's within reach. They ARE on top of the immediate issues with the ATF. You don't build support by overreaching. It's much more effective to chip away at the issues, and be diligent about it. Campus carry, Constitutional carry, and keeping an anti-gun guy from RUNNING the BATFE. As others have said, they're not perfect. As I have said a number of times... we would be in deep yogurt without them.
