Guys. I am totally fed up with Obama too, but let's look at this Birther thing from another perspective. Our friends in the Republican party impeached Clinton for a hummer in the Oval Office. If Barry wasn't a US citizen, you can bet your ass they would be all over this. Somebody would get their hands on those goodies if they existed. It would be the end of his presidency, and a major blow to the Dems. That's worth some Watergate style crap to the Repubs. You don't really hear credible Repubs saying that Obama was born outside the US. You don't hear them denying it either, because misinfomation is how politicians operate.

Of course, but I'm not so sure that Tom was really "selling" to begin with. More like offering because it's pretty rare material. Since Tom has trained over 30,000 folks at Rangemaster, he's probably way past marketing fundamentals.

I don't see the Pubs raising taxes. They seem to be in budget slashing mode everywhere.

Well, you need both, but I'm not following you. Are you saying the fire rating is BS, or just inadequate for a real fire? All of it depends on the indivudual safe, of course.

Bingo! And the dispatch time of the fire department vs. the rating on your safe probably matters.

I don't think it will come to that. The demographic shift in total population has nothing to do with the demographics of the people controlling this mess. They don't really care what impacts us, but you're talking about something that will impact them. Would you let somebody take your winnings if you had the US government at your disposal? The Government can do some amazing things, if you can afford them.

I hope everybody followed the links in Tim Nunan's post. As with most problems with the government's incompetence, it's about political influence and palm greasing. We can discuss it until we're blue in the face. The system is so corrupt that it can't be fixed.

Yep, a safe is just a tool. I doubt very seriously that my guns will ever burn up in a fire, because of where I live. If I was 15 minutes from the nearest fire station, I would have a 1 hour rating instead of a 45 minute rating.

It should say exactly how well in the safe's literature. x degrees for x minutes. If it's more fire than the rating, then the fire protection will fail. If it fails, YOU underestimated the worst case. Anything will melt if it gets hot enough.

Proof is a strong word. The point I was trying to make... a safe can live up to its rating, and still result in a total loss. That was a low end safe, and probably a long, hot fire. Can't blame the safe if the rating is exceeded.

What? Put half of them in a closet? How about you just don't put a 30 minute safe in a 1 hour fire? Don't think God had anything to do with it. Looks like the fire rating was exceeded.

There's no Yukon listed on their web site. I think it's a Yukon Gold, which is apparently made by Prosteel. I think any safe will burn up if you exceed the fire rating.

I like him so far. Haven't heard much from him yet, but find myself agreeing with him. It's unfortunate, but anybody that winds up in that office will wind up doing what the money guys want them to do.
