I'm from there. There are rumors about the kid. When it comes to the woman that's missing some of her brains... it's Kentucky. Good luck collecting the guns, laws or not.

My sister in law teaches there. Sad day. My lady went to Heath. She has been tracking this closely.

You can't hit anything without sights. And, if you are going on the cheap (or ultra reliable), you can't get by without irons. I'm with OhShoot. Maybe the dumbest gun I have ever seen. -

Yeah. Regular scopes never break. I never put backups in those guns. The only red dot (mine) I would even think about using without backups would be my Aimpoint. -

They weren't thinking. When it comes to an A2 front sight, those actually cost money. I had to pay Adco to put one on a stripped BCM barrel in my A2 rifle build. It was expensive. If they wanted to save, they should have done as you suggested and installed a railed block. -

I'm past 60, but no way I'll trust a powered optic without irons backing it up. I can still hit something with irons. My truck gun even has just a military irons. I can't shoot very far with them, but they're good enough for truck gunnery. Magnified optics are different. I don't put irons on those guns. -

No kidding. But, when the most cheapest is the most importantest, functionality may suffer. -
Once they turn us into criminals, they have to catch us. They suck at that. Could be liberating.

GREAT range. I haven't been there in years. Last time I checked, it's only open on weekends. When I was there, the target stands were a fixed distance. I have sighted in there before, but prefer a range with movable target stands, like Stones River.

What size backup generator?
mikegideon replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Survival and Preparedness
We just ordered a 15kw portable gas generator. The girl wanted to be able to run her dryer when the power fails. Wiring was easy. 50 amp RV connection box into the 100 amp panel in the detached garage panel thru a 50 amp breaker. The garage has its own 100 amp panel, which fed by the 200A panel in the main house. Kill the 200A main, plug the generator in, and flip on its breaker. Gonna have to rig a way to monitor utility power so we know when it comes back on. I plan to buy a 30 gallon roll around transfer tank to hold extra fuel. Will use fuel stabilizer in the genset and the storage tank. -
They charge out the ass for delivery too. It's still worth it.

PAY IT. Those folks can get it moved without bruising walls, floors, the safe, or any people. They moved mine. I thought they were high too until they showed up.

As soon as we have our first African president.

You have gazillions of folks that are happy to do low down things. Seems to be more of them these days, given the entitlement mentality that was so carefully nurtured by you-know-who. College, healthcare, and internet bandwidth is a right.

Here's the problem. I am against ANYTHING that puts technology regulation in the hands of a bunch of lawyers that can't even work their own cell phones. Republicans usually don't got out of their way to right the wrongs of evil capitalism, If they did, I would feel the same way. When it comes to Obama, when I see cumbersome, ineffective regulation, his face pops into my mind. Just can't help it.
-
In the beginning, there was the Internet. Then, Obama and his geniuses decided to fix one more problem that didn't exist, and added lots of regulations that accomplished absolutely nothing. Kinda like everything else he touched.

I'm betting that's a no.

Well... it's not good engineering. You're right. It's possible that the big lever (box mag) could break the receiver. With that said, the complexity of operating a fighting shotgun is greatly simplified with a box magazine. Dealing with that tubular mag, and two types of ammo is what makes a fighting shotgun so complicated. Slug changeovers turn into tactical reloads with a box mag. I came away from the Magpul Shotgun videos with an opinion. A tricked out 870 will handle any fight that I may get into. But, if I was carrying a shotgun into a real fight, give me a Saiga 12. Hell with a modified bird gun.

Sure makes the transition from buckshot to slug (and back) a lot easier
