Yep. That's a later generation. Best I can remember, when the 59 was out, your only choice was black. I have a 3rd generation too. There's not much difference in the feel of the two guns.

The 59 is a great pistol. Mine mostly stays in the safe now, but not because I don't like shooting it as well as some of my other pistols. it has an alloy frame, so it's fairly light for its vintage.

Does that mean I gotta cut the bayonet lugs off my AR's?

I have a Model 59 (Avatar). Any of the first, second, or third gen mags are interchangeable. I bought mine new in the '70's. Don't see many 59's around anymore, but you see a lot of third generation. not familiar with the model numbers off hand.

I have a helluva deal for you on a stock and handguard too DPMS! It's almost as good as Magpul EDIT: BTW... I'm razzin' you, kinda. The more I mess with these things, the more I believe in a "cry once" philosophy. You have deals, and then you have compromises. So far, my compromises wound up in the parts box. Finally, I had enough compromise parts to build a compromise rifle. The Geissele SSA for the compromise rifle shipped this morning. Right now... I have enough in the box to start another compromise rifle. Or maybe, I'll just sell off my parts box and buy some more ammo :-)

That kind of arrogance will not help them. They need to fix the G19 once and for all. Like I said, my G23 runs great.

This is really a shame. The Gen 4 G23 runs great. They should have never released the 19 until they could put the right springs in it.
