  1. I think you're right. Has nothing to do with the Supreme Court, though.
  2. I think the lady popo is dead wrong.
  3. I'm glad I looked at this thread...
  4. Please let me know. I'll have to order a couple. Here's a thread with good pics... Feed lip issue?
  5. Sorta. The PMAG has a couple of V notches for .223 bullets. So, there's a center "V" that cuts into the follower. Look down into one of your PMAGs and you'll see it. The 300gr hollow points are short enough to clear it. The 500gr bangs into it. The .458 guys are lovin' the Lancers. Polymer mags with steel lips. They also tend to hold the .458 at the right up angle to hit the feed ramp reliably. I read some posts on tweaking the feed lips on standard GI mags. I REALLY want to avoid that experience.
  6. BTW, a comment about SBR... I find it funny that they put "Save your 458 SOCOM brass!" on the absolute CRAPPIEST ammo boxes on the planet. They suck worse than Wolf. C'mon boys. At over 50 bucks a box, can't you make something that's reusable?
  7. Ok... I'm all in now. Everything for the basic gun is ordered and paid for. Even grabbed a couple boxes of ammo. In case you guys weren't aware, a PMAG won't work for a lot of the .458 ammo. The 500gr thumpers won't fit at all. Gotta find some different mags... maybe Lancers.
  8. Build the lower yourself. It's good for you :-). The problem with building an upper is the cost of the tools. They're not that expensive, but they do hit your budget. You can still have your upper built to order.
  9. Just the adapter and bipod. The bipod mounts to a sling stud. So the adapter slips onto the rail, and provides a sling stud, with a nice smooth surface around it to mate with the bipod. You'll like.
  10. I have one of those YHM bipod adapters. Works real well with a Harris bipod.
  11. You're more fickle than a girl singer in a garage full of Mercedes'
  12. Kinda where I was going with the question :-)
  13. Nice! You gonna shoot it?
  14. Can't handle Mark right now. Spent all my money on guns . I'm working on a plan.
  15. I took my time letting the .458 come to the top of my list. Now my OCD is kicking in.
  16. Nice job! I have 2 MOE grips, and one Hogue. You can't beat the looks of an MOE, and the storage can come in handy..
  17. I took your advice. Ordered the Fixed RRA stock, and the incidentals to finish the lower.
  18. You think it's cool now. Wait til his wood magazines finally come in
  19. So you can roll a pig like a beer can?
  20. RRA offers a Smith brake
  21. The RRA stocks look real good. I may go with the fixed one, just because it has a QD socket in the toe. The rifle's gonna need a strap. BTW... I will probably use a muzzle brake if one is available
  22. So... would you go with a carbine or fixed stock?
  23. Multiple guns to the range. One reliable gun any other time.
  24. Gotta spend a little time with external ballistics. My gut right now... carbine.
  25. Well... it has begun. Stripped lower on the way to D&T for transfer. Gonna have to noodle on a stock some, but may just use an A2. I'll noodle some on the upper config too. I think Jeffsig 'bout nailed it with his.
