  1. Might? I am.
  2. I'm seeing all of the above. Timeouts sending PM's are pretty regular. Had a couple of double taps before I figured out that they usually get posted before it times out.
  3. Happy Birthday Dolomite!
  4. I said earlier that I've never used my forward assist. After reading this, I recall a couple of times that I've been sloppy charging a rifle, and used it to bump the bolt into battery. It wasn't to hammer a stuck shell into the chamber.
  5. I always wanted a Marlin 1895 in 45/70, until I found out that you can pretty much duplicate the caliber in the AR15 platform. As cool as the 1895 is, it's off my list in favor of another AR.
  6. D&T's popularity is simple. It's the people.
  7. I love lever guns. I just love AR's more. Only have one lever, a marlin 336SS...
  8. All of mine have them. Don't recall ever having to use it. It looks like the second upper is missing the shell deflector and dust cover too. It's going to be a little lighter. Personally, I would stick with the A3. Looks is a factor in that too.
  9. Me too, and probably in that order. G&L is a long drive for me.
  10. Scraped and sizzled junk will work
  11. I hope you thumped that noggin a few times.

  13. Seems to me, a nasty divorce is the easiest way for a lawyer to be perceived as the bad guy. Shot placement is always a good thing, especially if you have to make it happen with one of those Sigs
  14. Well, a shotgun is certainly a lot of firepower. I'm not so sure I agree that "anybody" can hit something with one at home defense ranges. You're talking small patterns at those ranges. I have an 870 for the house, but I know I gotta aim it.
  15. Probably shouldn't compare the TSA with police. Their investigative skills are limited, like determing if it has cheese (yellow wrapper), or it doesn't (white wrapper).
  16. What I'm thinkin'. Of course, our government is less concerned with effectiveness than most folks.
  17. Maybe your response should have been, "this", and just whip that sucker out
  18. Would you point your M4 at a 95 year old hadji? I know... profiling is bad. But, totally ineffective security will get folks killed. We ALL know granny wasn't gonna blow up the plane. It's just an exercise in political correctness. If our enemies practiced that too, we wouldn't be fondling anybody's junk.
  19. I wish that was all of it. Your basic sheeple accept it, some even demand it.
  20. I have the same basic plan. No chickens though. All that gunfire will scare the bejesus out of a chicken.
  21. I like a real scope. Just make sure you get a rimfire scope. Their objectives are focused at shorter ranges. I use a Weaver 3-9 with adjustable objective on my 10/22. If you're hunting, you won't always have an unobstucted view of your target. A scope always helped me with that, even when I had great vision. Regarding AR's... I have dedicated lowers for mine. There is something to be said for familiarity with the platform. It's also kinda like the 10/22. A huge number of available options. I like the AR-10, but it keeps getting bumped down my list of gotta have rifles. Between the AR-15's and my bolt guns, I probably won't ever own one.
  22. Absolutely. I figure if you drink some of David's coffee, you may be able to get your new gun sold before you get out of the parking lot . You can just keep doing it until the store closes.
  23. There are a lot of great .22's out there. The 10/22 is probably the most popular by a wide margin. You gotta decide if you want an auto first. +1 on the CZ, but it's not a cheap rifle. When it comes to the AR-15, you just can't beat the flexibility. You can up it to 6.8 SPC, or in my case, the .458 SOCOM (current build project). It won't replace a .308, but it will do a lot within the most common ranges.
  24. Well... Rightwinger relieved me of some of my cash this weekend. Back on a white bean and gun powder diet for a few days. I'm gonna need some of that free coffee
