  1. +3 for PA. Some red dots are cheesy, and can fail under recoil. Never had a problem with my PA's, but I never subjected them to big recoil either. They were both on .223 AR's
  2. Congrats. When I got mine, it took over 90 days. They sure have improved.
  3. And, what if the same old girl jumps into a car? There are only so many laws you can write before you have the mess we're living in today.
  4. Let me google that for you
  5. Gets crazier every day. If somebody runs on banning stupid, I'm in.
  6. About the same for me. Did one yesterday
  7. 35 grains of H110 behind a 300 gr jacketed hollow point. Still digging for good load data, but I got all the stuff. Rightwinger has some more current data.
  8. Sure, capacity is diminished. But, you really don't have to shoot something more than once. Use your sights :-)
  9. Don't know about the whining part. The military decided the round was too heavy. Spraying and praying is why they went to the 5.56 to begin with. if that's how the bulk of your operators use their weapons, then the .308 is too big. One shot one kill is a wonderful thing if you bother to aim your rifle. I view the .338 as a sniper round that's a gap filler bewteen the 7.62 and .50 BMG. Doesn't make sense to shoot somebody across the room with it.
  10. The problem with the AR-15 is that you wind up bumping the ceiling. The platform will only handle so much bang. I've looked hard at the 6.8, and have even shot one. I think it will be around for awhile. I agree, the 5.56 will do a lot with good bullets. I'm playing with the .458 now, and will even shoot it one day. Still waiting on the upper from RRA. It's frustrating. Single source for brass, and NO data in the reloading manuals. It's gonna be a fun thumper gun, but range is limited.
  11. I think it has been posted. Still a great video,
  12. DC is a big city, and apparently more corrupt that Chicago. Why do they not have any FFL's?
  13. I just went through the buying process, and did a lot of reading along the way. I also leaned on a couple of buddies that have been doing it forever. I bought a single stage press that uses quick change bushings for the dies. I bought it to load .458 SOCOM. I plan to do some of my other calibers as well, but don't plan on doing large quanitities of pistol ammo. Here's the list, FWIW... Lee Breech Lock Classic Cast Press Lee Auto Prime XR Lee Perfect Powder Measure Lee Primer Pocket Cleaning Tool Lee Safety Scale (total POS) Frankford Arsenal Digital Powder Scale (Great and cheap) Hornady Tumbler Hornady Cam Lock Case Trimmer RCBS Kinetic Bullet Puller Frankford Arsenal Ammo Trays Hornady Dies (they do a better job with the .458 dies). Already had a real good set of dial calipers and several of the Harbor Frieght Digitals. If you get the Harbor Freight, get some spare batteries.
  14. That's what I was thinking. Sorta like a politician getting pissed at a liar.
  15. I couldn't make any sense of it. There were lawyers in there somewhere.
  16. Cool! Looks like Obama's fixin' to kick off a new buying frenzy. Congrats to our friends in the gun and ammo business. Can't all this pending stuff be reversed when Obama moves back to Illinois?
  17. God bless Texas, again! Obama... I got my own theory about him. He was born on France, not Kenya.
  18. Yeah, I know. You allergic to musicians? :-)
  19. They probably all are, then.
  20. I think that caliber has way too much snort to even work with straight blowback. I don't have personal experience, but have always thought that the pistol caliber AR's use the same DI gas system as the .223, but with heavier buffers.
  21. Yep. Unless you're carrying a big bore hogleg, shooting a grizzly will just piss him off.
  22. I wind up looking at all the ads anyway, even if I'm not in the market for anything. The real solution is to just move to Nashville. You can get to everything in the state, and you don't have to carry as many spare mags :-). Excuse the boring smiley.
  23. More over-the-top stuff. The prosecuter needs and ass whippin'. Oh wait...
  24. I think Tim C said it best. If the operation of the holster makes it a little easier to shoot yourself, then it's probably something to avoid. There are other effective means for retention.
  25. What does the outcome of any lawsuit have to do with reality? If the serpa makes negligent discharges more likely, then I will stay away from it.
