  1. It's YOUR study, and the results are close to mine.
  2. A lot of people smoked weed when they were younger. I wouldn't smoke if it was legal, but not because of the harm it would do.
  3. Sorry Mr. Luck. Lighten up
  4. The more you drink (or smoke), the more it is going to set you back. Either can be overdone. It's not easy to drink yourself to death, and as far as I know, it's impossible to smoke yourself to death. Best I have been able to tell, they're about the same for casual users.
  5. I'm guessing he didn't try to whip anybody's ass, and probably ate way too many Cheetos .

    6.8spc or 243?

The 6.8 does a helluva job in an AR. i'm a fan. Just no reason to limit the power like that in a bolt gun.

    6.8spc or 243?

Just call 'em what they are, then. A .243 win, and a .270 short :-)
  8. I drink, but don't use any drugs other than what's prescribed. With that said, I have believed that pot should be legal for a LONG time. It really is less toxic than alcohol. I'm not so sure it's any less damaging to somebody's life, but have known (still know) a number of folks that have smoked their entire lives, and have been plenty productive. But, the laws aren't really about any of that. They're about money. As with anything else, there are plenty of lies to protect the flow of that money.
  9. Yep, and there's nothing wrong with that!
  10. I like that
  11. Backup sights are there to get you out of a jam. In my opinion, they do that, even the ones on the Bushnell. In the unlikely event that your optic fails, finish what you're doing, then replace or repair as necessary.
  12. Yep, and there's a ton of evidence to the contrary. The gateway effect is probably more related to the distribution channels. Drug dealers sell drugs. A lot of times, it's the stuff that has a lot less bulk than pot. I'm guessing the gateway effect is almost non-existent among the legal pot users in California. They go to the pot store, not the drug store.
  13. No telling. Battlefield gear doesn't get babied like my rifles. Still, with Eotech getting a big percentage of their revenues from Military and Law Enforcement, it's safe to assume that they are very serious about reliabilty in the field. For me, it's simple. The Eotech works better than anything else as a sight. If it dies, I'll use the irons until I can fix it.
  14. ... in public.
  15. It's easy enough to learn that lesson right here on TGO. If you see a good deal, you better jump.
  16. Any device with electronic on/off circuitry has some constant drain on the batteries. I'm on the original set that's around 9 months old. Probably time to swap them out. Any electronic sight can let you down. My Aimpoint has a 5 year battey life if you just leave it on, but I would much rather shoot with the Eotech. I'm stuck with the Eotech, warts and all.
  17. Wow. Sig makes GREAT 1911's.
  18. Don't think I'm with you on this one. I have good backup sights on my rifle, and spare batteries in the grip. I also kinda treat all my AA gear the same. When the batteries have been in there for awhile, I change them out. I rarely run them all the way down.
  19. A buddy in PA just emailed this link. It would be a bloody mess at my house.
  20. Don't they know that eating pot brownies will turn them into heroin addicts? Dumbasses.
  21. My Eotech (512) uses AA's. If you turn it on with the left button, it shuts off after 4 hours. If you turn it on with the right button, it stays on for eight. I'm still on my original set of batteries. If they die, I'll get some from the gas station. A LOT of pros use eotech sights.
  22. I actually liked the .458, and so did the monkey. Stayed put thru the whole thing
  23. I haven't carried one for a living like Dolomite has. Battery life is fine with me. They're all fractional compared to the Aimpoint, if that's big on your list. I'll probably be dead before my Aimpoint needs a battery.
  24. I shot a monkey out of my butt last week. That was exciting.
