There is ALWAYS an active thread about it. As soon as one dies, somebody starts another. I suppose it has done some good, though. There are times when I might open carry now, as long as I think it won't cause a scene. I still don't think I'll ever open carry just to make a statement, or just to exercise my "rights".

I understand the roomate thing. Even with that situation, I'm not so sure I would disable the gun to the point that it prevented ME from using it. Even when all my guns are in the safe, an assortment of them are loaded. My girlfreind has her own combination to the safe as well. Lock them away from your guests... not from yourself.

Dayum. I NEVER disarm myself at home, even if I'm shooting tequila. I may hide my guns from guests, but it depends on the guest. Never use one of those stupid gun locks either. I grew up before guns were so evil that they needed their own lock. With that said, my name ain't Wyatt Earp either.

Not sure I recall anybody saying that OC could never ever be a deterrent. A lot of folks believe that CC gives you an advantage. Personally, I think it depends on the situation. There are positive outcomes from open carry all the time. Then again, there are those times when some sheeple goes like this . Some folks believe that a screaming sheeple ain't a positive outcome.

This is a very good point. I shoot my AR's more than any of my other guns. One of the reasons is ease of maintenance.
