Right! This is a lot more about reporting than reality. The state ranks down where it should in two categories, and is way over the top in the third. Any time a number is that far out of whack, you gotta question it. The frustrating thing to me is that Brian wouldn't respond to any of my posts about it. Didn't watch the video before. That's not a typical pot still. I may have to get the video . 180 proof usually requires multiple distilling cycles, or a reflux still. That may be a reflux tower over the cooker.

You can't do 180 proof with a pot still. Moonshine is made in pot stills.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure I already have. I know a few of his buddies, and have sampled shine from all of them. There are a few craftsman still around too.

And, I thought the .458 SOCOM was frustrating. There's almost no pressure tested data out there. The brass manufacturer (Starline) is excellent, and there's a guage available to test the finished product. It's a piece of barrel blank with chamber and lands. Is there a source for off the shelf brass for the blackout?

I use DPMS kits, but a lot of them wind up in the parts box. Fire control gets replaced with Geissele. Grip with Hogue or Magpul, and the trigger guard with Magpul. Not an ambi safety fan.
