  1. We don't feed EAS tests to our internet streams. I'm guessing everybody else does the same.
  2. I have a little more faith in a beam scale's accuracy, but LOVE my Chargemaster. Every charge is trickled to within a 10th of a grain. I have clocked some of my loads, and the velocity is real consistent. Like I said earlier, If I was loading high volume, I would be using a regular powder thrower.
  3. I'm with you, old wise one
  4. This wasn't high tech. In fact, they need to improve their tech. Can't knock ham radio, but the masses can't pick it up. I've been in a couple of places that were blasted back to the stone age, and broadcast radio was IT.
  5. It's not all at once. It has always been a relay system. The system itself works pretty well. It's just that the government is broken. Kinda like everything else they touch.
  6. This is probably the cuprit, from the tons of chatter I'm getting from across the US... I bet the main culprit is going to be determined to be Burk EAS units not properly ignoring duplicates during the test... and overlapping / creating loops. Based on what Mark Ness forwarded, that seems to be what happened in these cases where we were hearing all the background noise.
  7. There was an echo, sorta. There were additional tones under the audio. Depending on the audio level, some boxes may have handled it differently. The TV stations normally get a relay from one of the radio stations in town. The primary stations get it from our uplink (via satellite) if they're outside of the Nashville area. We received a garbled mess, so that's what everybody got.
  8. Yep. An AR can be a two man job.
  9. I just read emails from our engineers all over the US. Some didn't get any audio at all. From what I've been told, the problems originated at FEMA. Imagine that!
  10. It came that way from the primary entry point. Folks all over the country heard the same thing, if they heard any audio at all. As usual, the Gov'ment's stuff didn't work. Thanks for the radio check! You heard the same crap we did, which means our stuff worked fine.
  11. Maybe :-). It will relay to the rest of the state via my uplink. Since Glen Beck did his show from one of our studios this morning, I would say, It's up to God. He will be gone by the time the test runs, but his presence will linger.
  12. Hasn't happened to me, because it's the one thing I avoid when shooting Wolf. Don't know how likely it really is. Just know that a stuck case sucks, especially if you don't carry something to knock it out.
  13. There is a bump on the Gen 4 trigger bar that centers it under the firing pin safety. The Gen 3 trigger bar doesn't have that bump, so it tends to ride on the side of the channel. Some folks file down the bump, others replace with a Gen 3 trigger bar, and most just live with it. I agree, best reset I have felt.
  14. Sex scandals=ratings. EDIT: And BTW, it's just free enterprise. The Media is after profits like everybody else. At this point, responsible journalism would have to be forced by the government. That won't happen.
  15. You need more knowledge
  16. My pitchin' arm ain't what it was, but I can use some of that ammo...
  17. The Gen 4 is a little heaver. You can fix it with a Gen 3 trigger bar.
  18. You didn't pull the trigger before you bought it? I took some getting used to, but I'm OK with my Glock trigger.
  19. Most of their stocks go on poodle shooters, so I kinda understand. My .458 kicks like a mule sometimes. It's still the best stock for the gun (ACS). Just wish somebody would make a real recoil pad for it.

That explains the traffic. Hope he got there without any inconvenience.
  22. Looking good. When are you gonna drag it to the spot?
  23. I need an Old Fart icon
