    AR-15 upper

If those are your only two choices, I would get the Stag. If you're going to reach out with an AR, you'll find that 77gr Matchkings are your friend. You need a 1:8 twist to use them. You may also want the 24" barrel, since you need all the velocity you can get. The gun is gonna be heavy. I have a 24", 1:8 bull barrel one one of my AR's, and it does surprisingly well at 600 yards. It's not a gun I would want to carry around in the woods though.
  3. There are two components of recoil. The magnitude, and the velocity. That's why a rifle and shotgun can have the same magnitude (ft/lbs), but feel very different. EDIT... what Dolomite said
  4. The thing that frosts me is the stupidity of it all. I've NEVER been carded in a liquor store.

Good philosophy. There are some products with such low markups that it's more of a service to the customer than a profit making transaction. I'm guessing that Apex is one of those. They'll do it to get you into the store if they're a savvy shop owner, even if they only make a couple of bucks on the deal..
  6. Truth
  7. I'm gonna print copies of that one and pass them out. I've been carded more in the last couple of years than the rest of my whole adult life.
  8. Me too. Rarely buy from Amazon though
  9. Great points, Mac. May be a big can of worms.
  10. Squaring off with the cops on the side of the road almost always goes their way. Makes more sense to file a complaint after the fact.
  11. It's been on. Friggin' communists.
  12. Apparently not. I'm sticking with the NRA. They are the ONLY ones making progress in the fight.
  13. Now that I've had a good dose of a weird caliber, I'm really intrigued with the 30-06
  14. Here it is... NRA-ILA :: H.R. 822 -- National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act -- Heading to House Floor; Contact your Representative Now!
  15. No personal experience with it, but have read that is supresses well, better than the .458. It that was my priority, I probably would have gone that direction too.
  16. I read the NRA's position on this, and they sold me. I don't even remember their points, but I do remember that they set my mind at ease about it.
  17. Yep. I signed her petition earlier tonight...
  18. Sounds like he may have flipped to the other side. I'll let you hug him

You may not have a choice with the Apex stuff. I either bought mine from Apex or Midway. Pretty sure it was Apex. It's been awhile.

    You really won't be sorry.
  21. Lots of folks rave about that die.
  22. My Marlin 336 weighs 7 lbs without an optic. My AR-15 carbines weigh 7 pounds with optics. If an AR-15 is the least bit unreliable, it's the fault of the owner. Not trying to be argumentative... just worried you're gonna get shot up.
  23. I loaded some up, but my chrony was lying that day. Been playing with accurate .223 the last few weeks.
